Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this dark day here ,yes plenty of better news around in the last few days .I am with the be normal look and my wife is the same ,we are off to visit family on Sunday and she will wear a lipstick no more .We watched some impressionists on BGT last night some random thing YT threw at us ,at first Amanda Holden had normal lips and was very pretty but the newer the clips the bigger her lips became and to me she lost her appeal .It could be that I am a stick in the mud old f''t and I can accept that .
As I am on a rant ,I have to say the way black people are treated in USA is nothing short of inhuman but the whites want to walk, talk and behave like the stereotypical blacks from the South .Why is that ?
Have a great day all COYB.

Morning all, grey and drizzly here this morning. We’re off to spend the weekend with grandkids nos. 1 & 2 as son and DIL are off to Manchester to see Peter Kay. This is the wrong way round, they should be seeing to their kids while I am off on a jolly! Seriously though I hope they have a great weekend as they have both been having a hard time lately and need to relax. I’m also hoping the weather clears as I had plans for a family walk in Burghley Park with the dachshund later in order to prise the little darlings away from their screens for a couple of hours
Have a good day, all.💙

Morning everyone feeling a bit delicate today but overall not too bad.

Met my former business partner for lunch yesterday and our annual get together.

Drank far too much but my homing pigeon device continues to work and it navigated me to Moorfields and safely onto the train and my lovely wife picked me up from Ormskirk.

Despite some fine dining , copious amounts of wine and a couple of cocktails in the New Ivy restaurant ( you have to go by the way - it's like dining at a disco in the jungle - totally mental but great fun ) I was still hungry enough for some tea and toast when I got in 😆 😂.

Anyway it's pretty wet and wild today so a day of rest and relation whilst Mrs J does her pressie deliveries and goes to the rescue.

Wonderful to hear from @peteblue that Kay will be home for Christmas.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

It’s a strange thing, I think I’ve mentioned before that apart from the very occasional, and I mean very occasional, use of lipstick, my wife has never needed any makeup on her face ( she is beautiful btw), but to see other beautiful women having lips blown up (and they never look right) suggests to me a lack of confidence or a bad experience in life. Just be natural ladies, you are all beautiful anyway…..,
Whenever we went away Cal needed a separate case for her make-up and toiletries. And another for her shoes and handbags. 😀

That should say Mela by the way. Bloody predictive text. Who on earth would call their daughter Melanoma. 😀

Funny fact. Predictive text didn't predict predictive. 😀
I just assumed you had bestowed her with a funny, if slightly cruel nickname!!

As far as GOT is concerned she’s Melanoma, now…

I’m just back from queuing round the local farmers market for an hour for all my Chrimbo veg. Can’t face washing it all yet; gonna have a cuppa then take the boys out for lunch, before we head to watch Sonic 3 at the cinema. Back home after that for some M&S party food, and copious booze and boxing (strictly watching, I hope…) for the grown-ups.

Haha. She isn't mine Brett. She's my sister's granddaughter. But AT chatting about his 2 nieces reminded me what a handful this one is.

Well this mornings been a bit of a mixed bag. Postman knocked (which is very unusual) because I had a package. Turns out to be a christmas present from my eldest sister in Ambleside, which is also unusual as we made a pact many years ago not to buy for each other as the family is so big. We just gave to the children. So I phoned her to say thank you. She said she'd received a similar present from one of my other sisters, who'd broken tradition because she didn't want her to wake up on Christmas morning with no present to open. (Not that Peter ever bought her one anyway ) She immediately thought of me going through the same thing. Isn't that nice. Anyway it's her first Xmas without Peter and she's also on her own for Xmas lunch so I'll give her a call in the morning before I go to the neighbours. If I'd given it more thought earlier I'd have travelled up there to spend Xmas with her. Maybe next year. Or she can come down to me.

The other news is that I found out that a very close friend of Cal's has stage 4 cancer. She's an old work colleague of ours and the only one, apart from Cal's brother, who ever messages me on the anniversary of Cal passing. I spoke to a friend during the week who said he heard at the pensioners Xmas party that she wasn't too good but didn't have details. So I called her this morning. It isn't good I'm afraid and the prognosis isn't great either. She's had an operation at the end of October which wasn't fully successful and she's now on immunotherapy at Clatterbridge. I'm afraid this isn't the finest moment for the Liverpool Women's as she's been under their care for at least 2 years with regard bleeding down below. I've been getting updates for ages ( Denise can be quite graphic) and the last time I saw her was February so it seems to have been going on for ever. Anyway i mildly berated her for not telling me sooner, and she said she put a message in her Christmas card which I got about 3 weeks ago. Oops. Well I am a bloke. So it's been a bit of a strange day so far.

Spoke with a woman from the Council this morning about arranging the care package and we agreed that I could provide the care until the care company shows up. Spoke to the nurse on the ward and passed on her comments, I think the nurse half knew anyway as the council lady had been in to see my wife this morning, of course Kay was asleep. Anyway the upshot is that I should be able to take Kay home on Sunday early afternoon, I’m pleased to say…

I'm so sorry to hear this Fred. Immunotherapy is very much the new kid on the block with cancer treatment. There isn't much data about it compared to other treatments but good things are being said. Fingers crossed for your friend x
