I can just see the midwife now. Ermm. It looks like your having a Pig in Blanket.Hi folks. I'm so glad Kay is home @peteblue . @kev you do make me laugh. At least there were no lost pies and trampled feet this time.
Chris had his treatment today - all went well. No ill effects so far.
I've been doing some food prep tonight in readiness for tomorrow. We're on a tight timetable. Charlotte has got a scan at 3.30 tomorrow so dinner is at 1. I've cooked one lot of meat, prepared some of the veg and made a cauliflower cheese up to the point where it needs to be cooked. I feel like a drink is called for after all that!
I'll be very disappointed if we don't beat City on Boxing Day!
Isn't your birthday soon? Seem to recall it's near Cal's.I agree
Your visits to Goodison are a lot more eventful than mineYesterday was just as eventful and even more stressfull.
I was resigned to watching the match on TV . . . and then (at 12.45, just 1 hour and 15 minutes before kick off) I got a phone call from my sister who was already at Goodison, to say that her friend couldn't make the match and I could use his two season tickets in the Family enclosure. BUT I would need to pick the cards up from an address in Widnes.
I phoned my son and asked him to drop my grandson off at ours while I went to find the tickets. Having found the address and got the tickets I drove back home only to find that my son's car wouldn't start . . . so I then had to go in the opposite direction to collect my grandson from Newton Le Willows before heading down the East Lancs.
We parked up near Walton Hall Park and dashed through the worst of the days weather to finally reach our seats 15 minutes after Kick Off. Both absolutely saturated but just happy to be there.
I would be even more impressed if I knew what you meantGetting ahead of myself this year. Chestnut and cranberry stuffing, and Jamie Oliver gravy stage one complete. Also dry brined the turkey for the first time ever. A maverick move, I think you’ll agree.View attachment 287455
Sounds lovelyGiven that I stick to the same recipes every year, I thought the only way to add a bit of excitement would be to mess with the timetable!
Me and the boys are gonna make Father Chrimbo’s cookies later and all.
Good news about Chris, fingers crossed it continues.Hi folks. I'm so glad Kay is home @peteblue . @kev you do make me laugh. At least there were no lost pies and trampled feet this time.

I hope the day goes well and you realise that they are helpers ,the meaning is in the word ,they are not trying to push you out ,just help . It is so nice for Kay to be back home and walking a bit ,it will come back but as you say slowly . Stay strong that man and eenjoy Xmas .Walked my wife inside the house and up and down a couple of steps. It’ll be slow but I’m sure she’ll get there. Carers come tomorrow to do the changing, washing, dressing etc. I was going to cancel them after a couple of days but both my pub manager and her deputy said don’t as they have to give 6 weeks for free anyway after she was released from hospital. So I’ll see how it goes, and get embedded in the system for when I need them in the future…
I wrote out a load of cards for the pub staff and those who help out today and put a suitable Christmas bonus in each, it seems to have been appreciated. Took a friend to have a scan at hospital shortly after and so it’s been a busy day. Again thank god for my lads help…..
I found out by chance yesterday that a friend has had only one kidney all his life and he didn't know until now -he is in his sixties .Good luck to CharlotteHi folks. I'm so glad Kay is home @peteblue . @kev you do make me laugh. At least there were no lost pies and trampled feet this time.
