Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Since moving to Canada we don’t have Christmas dinner till 6-7 pm, I remember back at home we ate around 2-3 o’clock, just wondering what time folk have your Christmas dinner , I think it’s a North American thing to eat later.

I would just like to say Merry Christmas to all on here and all the best for the New Year
Ours always seems to fall around 3pm. It was never a conscious decision to eat at that time necessarily, just that by the time I’d prepped everything, either side of taking the kids to their nan’s for a couple of hours, that’s what time it was.

Pretty nicely timed tbf; decent little nap in front of the telly after, then awake in time for a turkey butty and a cheeky rum.

Merry Christmas everyone - the nicest bunch of people I know .

I hope that today brings everything that you want and need.

Brilliant to hear from @Terrarian , great weather for a long Daisy walk.

A pretty relaxed day ahead in the Jazzy household, even for Mrs J I hope.

She's done all the prep so over to see mum , a nice chilled breakfast, open the pressies ( won't take long as we deliberately haven't bought each other much this year ),walk the dogs , then some music and a bucks fizz . If I can make my mind up ( see what I did there) we might go down the pub for a quick beer and then I will bring mum over .

God knows why because it's about 15° but I've made a fire - because we always have one on Christmas Day! - and at 4pm we will have our dinner. French wine this year Macon village for Mrs J , Chateau Neuf du Pape pour moi and water for granny 😂.

She will watch Strictly and then I will take her home and we all.conk out.

Usually we have all Mrs Js family but this year just the 3 of us so should be very chilled.

Anyway , whatever you do, have a lovely day everyone.

Lovely Gwladys, hope you had a good time.

Did your hymn get played? I was totally unfamiliar with it and didn’t recognise the melody even I must confess.
Had a lovely time, thanks. Midnight clear wasn’t played but we did sing “Good King Wenceslas last looked out” I must have a word with the song sheet editor nor do we bring Good Tidings to you and your King.

Morning you lovely lot, Merry Christmas from the Boro. Just having a cup of tea before putting on our Everton Christmas jumpers (we do this to wind up the grandkids) ready the big onslaught later. Son, family and Minnie the daxie coming round at 9.30 to spend the morning with us. Then Daughter, her family and my brothers will be here for dinner this will be around 1.00 @Ducans elbow. Chaos all afternoon I expect, just hope that they don’t bring round the presents we bought them - Hannah had a keyboard and Jess a pogo stick! They are going visiting their Dad’s side of the family later so tea should be a more sedate affair. Wishing you all the best of Christmas Days 💙💙

Merry Christmas! Christmas dinner at ours is usually 2-3 too, but as this is the first Christmas in over 30 years that it’s not, by the time everyone arrives at my sons it will probably be about 5-6. I like to get it out of the way then I can put my feet up and relax. This is a first for all of us this year - Christmas with the in-laws so I’ll just go with the flow

Morning all!! Woke up full of a cold but there’s no time for that kind of nonsense today so popped some cold and flu tabs and we soldier on!

Currently watching Chrimbo music videos (Cliff Richard atm) with the kids while we wait for my wife to make herself even more beautiful. Turkey prepped and coming up to room temp before going in the oven, and blini batter proving for breakfast.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.
