No, not another one Fred. So sorry to hear that mate. The mood in here is so good this morning, it's a shame to spoil it with some more bad news I've had. My brother phoned earlier to see how I've been getting on over Christmas. His eldest granddaughter, who's only in her late 20s, was diagnosed with breast cancer around 2 years ago. However after they performed the mastectomy they found that her lymph nodes were heavily infected and further scans showed that the cancer had spread to other parts of her body, and she has been fighting this secondary cancer with varying levels of success ever since. He told me this morning that results of a recent scan they received just before Christmas shows that the cancer has now spread to her brain, and there is nothing more they can do for her. It's just going to be a matter of time and as that time get's nearer all they will be able to do is keep her comfortable and pain free. I think we always knew she was fighting an uphill battle and realistically this moment was inevitable, just a question of how soon, but it still comes as a shock all the same.
She has a daughter who I think is 5 now, who lives with her mum, my niece. For the past 6 months she herself has moved back in with a boyfriend in Liverpool and I guess is trying to get as much enjoyment as possible into what little time she has left. She's always been a bit of a wild child. I saw her at Cals funeral a couple of months ago and was able to give her a big hug, and that was nice.
Anyway, sorry to unburden myself on you again.
Try one then tell me you don't agree with me Sass.Orgasm > Tequila
Cheers mate. With this one I've just been waiting for the bad news for quite some time. A bit surprised it's taken this long tbh. Very sad, but at least it hasn't hit me like a bolt in the same way as the others. No, not another one Fred. So sorry to hear that mate.
No need to apologise. You're among friends and we're here to support you.
Bloody hell. Zatty Colombian over here.Yummy! Seems like you had a very delicious tea! I just woke up and now I’m hungry ?
I am part of the cult. I absolutely love olives. Spaniards have some great ones and the big Greek olives are the best.
You are a very talented woodworker that’s for sure. I also sew for hobby, my grandmother taught me when I was girl in Colombia. It is a very practical skill to know, I actually need to catch up soon on some items that need minor sewing repairs.
I agree on the cod, not too sure about the rye bread dessert though. However, for ages I didn’t use to like rye bread but the last couple of years I have gained a taste for it. More proof that our palates continues evolving even into old age, if we are only willing to let it happen.
Jazzy, have a great workout. I’m also supposed to be back at the gym today but I won’t be going at my usual time, nor at my usual gym since I’m staying at my mum’s town, so I feel a bit out of my usual routine and not looking as forward to it. But my body needs it so I’m going to get motivated and go for it once I’m done reading this thread.
My head is feeling a bit rough as I decided to make german mulled wine and we sipped on that while watching still Christmas movies (a bad combination, the more we watched the more I drank ?)
When you went to bed? And you have woken up and they still playing? Ffs How long does a match last??
May sun shine your way soon dear @Gwladysover but watching Howard’s Way on a cloudy day seems like a great plan. I watched it with the hubby a few weeks ago and it was such a nice story about our Blues.
What are you trying to start now, Fred? lol
pic or we don’t believe you xx
Love ya, Fred.
The LT variation sounds better than Delta so I would be up for it lol Have a good run down to Merseyside. X
May the relatively pain free few days continue! X
Ange, enjoy your lazy day and your walk at the beach tomorrow, including the fish and chips and an ice cream. There is only a few days left on 2021 so make the most of it, because you know once 2022 comes your trainer will be having you getting ready for that cruise ?
Now I want a recipe ?
It looks absolutely gorgeous, from inside lol
Do you happen to have a pic of the photo negative to share with us? ?
Same with my daughter, she loves olives but she can’t be bothered with tomatoes. Something is clearly wrong with her taste lol
All this time I have been thinking Carlos21 is GOT’s real Don Juan ??
Awe, how sweet ? Now I am more eager to watch that movie, we almost watched last night but my daughter was still determined that we continue the Christmas theme. But it is on my list for this week.
Heartbreaking. I’m sorry mate. The mood in here is so good this morning, it's a shame to spoil it with some more bad news I've had. Cheers mate.Heartbreaking. I’m sorry mate.
Don’t ever apologise, man. We’re here to bring you back up; the thread made in the honour of @messymascot could hardly do anything else.
Dinner on New Years day mate?
That's the one with Kristen Stewart isn't it? I do like her but American actresses don't always play good English rose parts. Gwynnie was usually a very good exception and Anya Taylor-Joy was also very good in Emma. How was Kristen? Now to upset / deflate a few more ,just watched "Spencer " about Lady Di .I am well and truly pee'd off .No more as I won't spoil it .
Banging it in the oven to eat tomorrow mate.Dinner on New Years day mate?
The stuffing sounds right up my street. Almost worth a trip up to Southampton.
Cheers mate. Yes Peter was my very good friend. He sadly passed away on Christmas eve having had a severe heart attack a week earlier whilst playing golf. I've actually made a couple of posts on here about it. I actually know one of the Oakes brothers too.Fred I know you were involved with fooball in Speke, just seen this on another forum, not sure if you knew Peter,
so sad to hear that my old neighbour and friend from Rycot Road PETER CLARKE passed away on Xmas Eve - Peter wa a stalwart for football in Speke and well known in the football scene - RIP Peter - sincere condolences to Peters family - from all the Oakes brothers...very sad for all concerned
