Beautiful bright morning here now after pelting down in the night. Should have had the whole family round yesterday unfortunately son and family are isolating but daughter and family came and my brothers. Played board game, Articulate for kids at which I am spectacularly bad and was beaten hands down by my 8 year old granddaughter, “You’re not allowed to say that, Nanny!”lol Off for a walk to blow the cobwebs off later. They are Sassy and , I can't believe I'm saying this , I'm making my debut this season.

Long story short - I said I wouldn't go to Goodison whilst Benitez was in charge thinking that he wouldn't last more than half a season. Don't think that will be the case now with his power grab , ousting Brands and Moshiri have apparently fallen for him , hook , line and sinker . Sooooooo yesterday when a mate said he had a spare ticket I was sorely tempted and with the weather being so good ( fair weather supporter me ) , not drinking for January ( so I have an excuse not to go into crowded pub ) and not seeing anyone over Christmas / New Year , I thought why not - gave into temptation and agreed to go.

Need to dig out my COVID passport , a couple of masks and I'll be there.

I'm expecting Brighton to play some decent football , have 70% possession and hopefully DCL nicks a goal and we hang on - It's Benitezball ! If not I'll be back on the booos.

Your intrepid reporter , taking Covid risks will report in full on the game later. Interestingly , I'm pretty sure that it will be the first time in absolutely years that I will have watched the Blue boys stone cold sober.

Enjoy the game Jazzy, think you read it right Benitez will be here at least a couple of years and beyond if there is steady improvement.
I didn't want him here but we needed rid of the deadwood and he's arrogant enough to be ruthless, it's who he brings in and how they gel and perform which will determine his future.

Good morning all, my one day of rest today, I have my mate and his good lady coming around for new year drinks, hopefully we can pick up a good stream for the game.
He's a shots connoisseur so in his honour I've bought some in for him, I'll have one or two but can't afford to go daft as I'm driving back down to Merseyside again tomorrow.

I have yet to make my seasonal debut. I miss Sunderland in the Premier League. Always a good away to go to. I'll have to put a trip to Goodison this season on my to do list.

Bonjour everyone ,

I hope you are all fit and well and not suffering too much from New Year Day excess.

Early start to the day for me and Mrs J. She was in agony from her ear infection so we went early and queued up at the Walk in Centre at Ormskirk and managed to get a prescription so hopefully that will start to work and ease some of her pain soon.

Absolutely gorgeous day here , blue skies , bright sunshine and ten degrees. Why on earth am I going to ruin it by watching Benitezball at Goodison ? Anyway It will be good to catch up with an old friend.

So another trip to Ormskirk , this time for the park and ride and a train into Kirkdale ( takes about 25 minutes Sassy ) and then the walk up to Goodison. Haven't done it for quite some time but I'm sure I'll find my way to the church for our rendezvous.

I will try to take a photo of Messy on the big screen and post if I can.

Anyway I hope you all have a lovely day and we get another 3 points in our fight against relegation !!!!

Been watching the darts a lot recently. I seem to have been sucked into it by accident and now I cant get out. They all seem a bit odd shall we say. Socially awkward. And the fans appear to be biggest tits on the planet. This is what my life is reduced to - looking forward to the darts! FFS!

Totally COVID friendly. All those people, indoors, not a mask to be seen. Apparently its red hot in there too because they keep the doors shout in case of any rogue breezes that might interfere with the flight of the Darts. I'm also thinking it must stink!

I run a table tennis club and we play competitively in the league. In common with all premises they are supposed to be ventilated but players complain about draughts affecting the flight of the ball!
