Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Really?

I had a few clients who lived in and around Aughton, and they were seriously well off.
Aughton is still lovely . Halsall is very nice as is Rufford although a bit further out.
However Ormskirk has become a student town with the mushrooming of Edgehill Uni. It's good because ( like Falmouth) it brings life and vibrancy into the town but a lot less exclusive than it once was.
Burscough has also gone along similar lines with a huge programme of housebuilding.

Why is that? So only those within the city limits get the label? And what's the difference between a scouser and a Liverpudlian?
Fred will explain this much better than me.
However a Scouser is someone born in Liverpool ( some say that if you are born in suburbs like Kirkby you aren't a Scouser but I'm not convinced about that ). For all intents and purposes a Scouser and Liverpudlian are the same thing. If you were born outside Liverpool and moved there , like I did , you can never be called a Scouser.

I thought you'd realise from your time on here. PeteBlue is the token Tory on the forum, or at least the only one prepared to put his head above the parapet.
I knew about PeteBlue being a Tory but I guess I had not really given it much thought to Liverpool's political affiliation. But when @tommye mentioned people in Liverpool not being bothered by cannabis then I did get confused about your Conservative post.

Thanks for explaining better than me mate. I didn't want an angry scouser shouting at me.

A very good friend of Mrs J has lived in Aughton for years ( like you a former bank manager ) and husband a company director. Seriously loaded , however she is spitting feathers that the value of her home has been reduced because of the development of Edgehill and the number of students living close by.
