Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

He is one of my least favourite sportsmen up there with Andy Robertson.

Thing is that if he continues to be unvaccinated it is highly unlikely that he will get into France or USA to play in their Grand Slams.

In fact only this country would be idiotic to welcome him with open arms at Wimbledon.
I just can't believe Jazzy how arrogant this guy is and the amount of support particularly in Australia, I'd be a proper Mr Angry from suburbia if we let him play Wimbledon which I can't honestly see happening.

Same with me, I have never really like him. His egotistical attitude, tantrums on the court, lack of respect for other people and his bizarre beliefs (didn't he said once that the power of prayer could purify filthy water) make him a very dislikable individual. I sure hope the US doesn't allow him to play but tbh I'm not very confident.

Agree with you Jazzy. Not much of a tennis fan but the way his Dad was carrying on the other night was ridiculous. Comparing him to Jesus being crucified. Totally OTT. He's brought it all on himself and I love the way social media is currently referring to him as Novax Djokcovid.
His new nickname is hilarious and very appropriate. His dad and his mom have been totally absurd with their claims, today his mom was saying that Djokovic got tortured while being detained at the hotel. But as soon as they were asked why Djokovic was shaking hands while being positive with Covid, they didn't like the questions and ended the press conference right away. Seeing his family embracing Nigel Farage says a lot about the sort of people they are, disgusting.

Very kind of you to ask Sassy. I'm fine thanks, just been really busy.

Got into the Christmas spirit a bit early last month and procrastinated on loads of stuff. Kept telling myself, "I'll do that in the new year," so when the new year arrived I had a massive to do list.

I'm about to watch a bit of telly with my missus, but hope to do a bit of a thread catch up and post more later this week.

Hope everyone's well.

Thanks for asking, lovely ? ?
I'm happy to read that everything is okay with you and that you are just busy getting stuff done. May you get everything completed soon ??

There are two distinct Liverpool accents. Don't know if it's North/South or what. There's the cewk and bewk accent or the cukk and bukk accent. I am in the latter camp. You can always spot a Scouser as soon as they say the word work. It always comes out as werrkk. No matter how mild the accent or how long they have been away. My biggest difficulty was saying shared services, especially when dealing with HR. It either came out as shaaired sairvices or shurred surrvices.
Never met a scouser that said cukk or bukk .

My laugh was definitely in a good way, Harry. I just found the way you wrote it amusing but I appreciate the clarification and I agree that it must be the reputation of being a scouse that may prompt people to pretend to have that accent. I used to have a Latin friend who after learning English she made sure she sounded like an American and got rid off her Latin accent because she didn't want to be associated as an immigrant. So people have many reasons to pretend an accent. I still have my Latin accent even after years of living in the US and I like it.
I read a while ago that more children are born now with Spanish speaking parents in the US than English speaking .

Think the most common ones down here are proper job, dreckly and ansom. You hear them all the time if you listen out, especially ansom.

I've been called ansom once or twice since I've been down here. ;) One drunk old lady in a pub in Falmouth once said to Cal, es proper ansom your usband in e. She nearly choked on her drink she was laughing that much.
Was that the pub next to Specsavers ?

Morning all, hope everyone's well today. Been feeling a bit run down so not done much last few days. Feeling a bit more spritely today.

Anyway we needed that win as uncomfortable as it was. UTFT
Morning T, Happy Tuesday.

Good you are feeling a bit better and you know, getting the win probably contributed a little to that.

Good morning all on this lovely day ,-22° here so just for @Sassy Colombian that is "Brass monkey weather "
Finally got the snow blower part yesterday but it is too cold to work outside on metal parts ,I will try this afternoon or tomorrow .I hope all have a fine and healthy day today .
Reading through the posts from yesterday it struck me how much of a meeting place this is ,nattering about whatever and not being made uneasy over your views .
I am trying to compare it to a place or time in the past but I am finding it hard .From being helped to helping ,from laughing at to laughing with and from explaining to having something explained ,I love to come on here .
Long may it continue .
I don't know if I have posted this before but the wife and I get up quite early and have a cuppa then we go back to bed to plan our day and the menu for the weekend -yes we do it everyday from Tuesday onwards and it does change -then we get up pool evercise and shower and the real day begins .
I have been retired 10 years almost and it took me the first five to stop feeling guilty about receiving money for doing nothing ,now I just enjoy showing this little plastic card and getting whatever I want .
Someone once said the retirement is so good they should make it compulsory for twenty year olds as they are young enough to get the best from it .
We started to watch the latest Bond movie but I thought it was riculous so we watched Gordon Ramsey ,I never liked him as although I swear Ithink there is a time and place and that TV isn't the place for effing and blinding ,we then bt chance found he had done a Christmas program in Finland ,we found it very good and we have since found some tours he has done with Gino and Fred -no not that one - and they are quite entertaining albeit a little childish ,I hope you all will find that as pensioner childish is actually very good ,they do say it is your second chilhood .
Have a great day .
