I'll be going down to Speke late on the Saturday afternoon to meet up with a few of the football lads at the Dunnies club. Also, I;m not sure, but I'm guessing that the wake for Peter's funeral will also be at the Dunnies Club (The old Fox pub) on the Wednesday. Will you get to Speke @Barnfred 55
Take it you're from down that way mate. Which street.? Cal used to live in Badminton street, one of the ones overlooking the river. The Dingle is the greatest place in the world. All the very best people are from there.
Was born in my nans house in Byles Street.Take it you're from down that way mate. Which street.? Cal used to live in Badminton street, one of the ones overlooking the river.
Off Cockburn Street, or the Bread Streets as they became known. Family all over the Dingle and Toxteth still.Take it you're from down that way mate. Which street.? Cal used to live in Badminton street, one of the ones overlooking the river.
Don't know Byles Street, but then again I'm not from round there. Until I started going out with Cal my knowledge of the Dingle was restricted to the very occasional pub crawl down Park Road. I guess most of the pubs will have closed now.Was born in my nans house in Byles Street.
Grew up on Windsor St/Warwick St/Park Road.
Badminton Street was off Cockburn street wasn't it?. Just typing that took me back 35 years. Getting in a taxi coming back from town Cal would always say to the driver, Badminton Street, off Cockburn Street.Off Cockburn Street, or the Bread Streets as they became known. Only a handful left now. Not had a pint round there for over 20 years.Don't know Byles Street, but then again I'm not from round there. In my youth, I once went on a date with a girl from Yorkshire. I'd had a really bad day and mentioned to her I had a cob on earlier. For anyone from Liverpool or the surrounding area, cob on meant annoyed or in a mood, but I wasn't aware that in parts of Yorkshire it meant erection. In Peterborough an “old boy/girl” is a young boy/girl. My “old boy” means my son. On holiday in Derbyshire Mr G. got into a conversation in a pub regarding the nuisance caused by “old boys” careering round on skateboards. Confusion reigned as the locals thought he was talking about old men, not youths.lol
Well I hope you don't get a cob on with Anj on her birthday. In my youth, I once went on a date with a girl from Yorkshire. I'd had a really bad day and mentioned to her I had a cob on earlier. I still remember the startled look on her face when she thought the anticipation of our date had made me highly aroused.
