Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I'm just going to get up a work colleague is taking me for a cuppa at 11. Then after that no plans. Maybe come on here and chat football. More likely fall asleep but a blend of both would be fine.

You up to much? Any more things you need to sort?
Yesterday was catching up with old friends which was good. Bit more of that today plus seeing some family.

I'm streaming Friday's service live for those that can't get there. I got the link through last night and there's loads to send it to so that will probably occupy my morning. Out for lunch with the lovely lady I've been staying with, then this afternoon I'll need to read through the draft eulogy the celebrant has sent through to me. That will no doubt be very emotional. Tonight it's drinks with more family and friends.

Anyway I'm taking up too much of this thread. You take care and if you feel tired then just have a sleep. I'll catch up again with you later mate.

You absolutely aren't pal. I want this to be a thread where we can all come and get things off our chest.

I'm glad you said when the service was as I knew you had already told us but couldn't remember. I didn't want to ask as I thought it might upset you. You will definitely be in my thoughts on Friday and if you want to talk about and you feel you can just come in here or message me or one of the regulars in here we all want to help and our slight step back might make it easier. Or you can come on here and not mention it at all.

I'll probably be on here to be fair. I'm still a bit annoyed by West Ham result. Also the Doucoure and DCL news hasn't helped. They will be back and raring to go so if we are still in the top half they can be a boost. It will be like 2 new signings. Richarlison definitely starts if he's fit at the weekend. He comes in for Rondon then I Doucoure and Iwobi would be replaced by Gbamin and Davies we need extra legs in midfield with Doucoure injured. If Gomes is fit I'd play him instead of Davies. At the back I would bring Mina in for Keane but no doubt it will be Godfrey who misses out.

Morning mate. Enjoy your cuppa with your work colleague. Good to hear you're still getting out and about regularly.

I'm going to be spending most of the day looking for a one man office to rent that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Everything I've seen so far has been mega expensive.

Everything is loaded against working class man. Do you live in Merseyside?

I will try and get out as long as I possibly can as I think that's what will keep me going. I'm going nowhere tonight but my best mate is ringing me at 5 so I've got that to look forward to.

Generous as ever Messy ;)

Never in my life have I tasted oxtail soup, is it really cows tail??? Pea and ham soup though with buttered bread, wheaten or bap - bbbbeautiful.
We have pea soup with hamburger type mustard in the bottom of the dish then stir to mix .so much more taste than pea and ham I used to eat . Yes it is oxtail but don't tell the cows .

Good morning, Karl!

I hope you got some rest yesterday and feeling more energetic today. I'm sorry I wasn't able to stop by yesterday but I had professional development at work and today I have been dealing with a student having a mental crisis and trying to withdraw from classes so it has been hectic the past few days but it seems everyone else has been keeping you in good company.

I agree with you that I would feel more comfortable with our squad if we signed a LB or RB the upcoming winter window. Our squad is just too thin and now that Doucoure is going to be out for a while we really need to sign some players unless we are not serious about competing.

Good for you mate. You can always have a little kip if it takes it out of you.

I'm originally from the Wirral, but now living in Kent. I'm looking for an office in Kent/South East London, so I'm having to deal with annoying sales people trying to entice me into viewing their offices before they even tell me the price. Some also try and drop my name into practically every sentence, in the vain hope their fake pally routine will sway the sale. Maybe I should be posting this in the Minor things that make you fume thread.

Anyway, hope you're having a good day and speak to you soon.

Haha- Oxtail (cowtail) soup just doesnt sound or look right, must be an aquired taste. I love pea and ham so ill try the mustard with it.

I think me and Messy are referring to Heinz oxtail soup, which has tiny bits of meat in it and just tastes beefy, rather than anything with big chunks of meat, although I haven't had it since I was a kid. Quite partial to a bit of pea and ham myself, but today I had Tesco Finest chicken and chestnut mushroom, which had bits of basmati rice in. Posh or what?

Very Posh, did you get dressed up to eat it?

Fred, it seems you have gotten a lot accomplished regarding your late wife’s funeral and I have to say that I’m impressed that you are going to be streaming the service. How great of you to give the opportunity to say goodbye to those that won’t be able to attend in person. Sometimes I complain about technology and how addictive it can be but then there are moments such as for this occasion that one feels so grateful we have the capacity to do such a thing as streaming a funeral.

I hope your day with friends and family continues going well today.

I love proper Ox tale but was never keen on the oxtail tinned soup. I used to add half a teaspoon of madras curry powder and it transformed into mulligitawney soup (excuse the spelling). I used to be convinced that's all Heinz used to do.
