Flying is about £50 cheaper than the train btw Fred..

On a similar note, haven’t priced it in a while granted but the boat to Liverpool was £30 cheaper than the flight as was was quoted to me often by fellow travelling blues.

So that is a £30 loss against a time saving of approx 13 hours.

Morning Mascoteers long story but here I am at Manchester airport … not going home to Spain … but out to Saudi Arabia via Frankfurt … no matter how hard you try to retire sometimes your past catches you up …. I’m off to do some training for bank staff in Riyadh at a request of an old client
Amusingly last night I was in a small Apartment hotel in Manc city centre listening to the United fans singing and shouting n their way to the game
Oddly enough I only heard Middlesbrough accents singing on the way home ha ha
I’ll send pictures of Riyadh … not many get to go there but it’s a truly spectacular city

One of my old clients invited me to a derby match at Anfield and Jimmy Case was doing the hospitality in the lounge. It was a midweek game and I was the first to arrive and we had a good chat whilst waiting for my host and the other guests to turn up. I used to play amateur footie with his brother Frank and I also knew Jimmy's missus because she was from Speke and used to date my brother before he whisked her off. He still lives in Southampton and travels to and from every Liverpool home game by car. Said his record for the journey was 2 hours 35 minutes. lol

Anyway, hope the boys put on a performance for you mate. Which hotel are you saying in?

I get up most nights for a piddle and a painkiller and I look to the north but I have seen them once in 23 years .Mainly because I used to sleep and we go to bed before they turn them on -you do know it is the gnomes who do it ! and of course in the summer it isn't dark enough to see them.

Morning Messketeers - hope you're all doing well? Sorry I ain't been in here much lately, been a bit mad in work and had a run in with covid, which wasn't too bad, thankfully (seemingly Omicron). All good now.

Off the match in a bit with the nippers and I think I'm more excited than they are! Haven't felt this pumped since probably Ancellotti took over.

Hoping Fronk has been able to de-benitez the squad a little in time for today - be good to see some progressive, attacking, ball retaining football for a change!

I'll also be raising a pint to our friend Karl, I'm sure he would have been right up for it today.

Whatever you're doing this weekend have a belter folks and Arriba Los caramelos!
