Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Imagine how Mina feels when he returns from International duty. Same with Richy.
Yeah but they are 40 odd years younger and haven't eaten or drunk to excess I the previous 2 weeks. They'll also flown home on a personal jet with beds and showers rather than being crammed in like sardines , awaking with a crick in your neck and eating plastic food on the plane.

Morning all, just checking in, will try and have a read back later. Finally got a bit of relief on saturday and have kept the head at bay, bought some ibruprofen gel and deep heat cream to help. Great game at the weekend, carry that on tonight hopefully.

Speak soon T.
Good to hear from you. Glad you are feeling a bit better.

All fair points. But even if you manage to sleep on the flight the time difference still affects your general well being. Normally when you're travelling forward in time for some strange reason.

Love the pics.
How's the fitness regime going Anj?. Still on track?

i weighed myself this morning and I've lost in the region of half a stone since I last weighed myself before my trip up to Liverpool. So that's around about 2 pounds a week which is the sort of figure I aim for. Not sure how much of that is down to my change in eating habits over the last 3/4 days since I got the dental abscess. On the flip side, I haven't been out and about much so I expect my increase in exercise from walking once the weather improves to have a positive impact too. As I said, I'm not setting myself any specific targets, just looking to lose some of my excess weight. I'm still eating and drinking the things i enjoy, as Blue can confirm from my posting history. I've now lost nearly 2 stone, probably since Cal's death if I'm honest, Not a bad start.

On the abscess front, things are pretty much the same as they were 36 hours ago. I'm not suffering the same pain levels which are manageable, but the swelling is still there and eating is also still awkward. So I decided that I needed to medical treatment after all. I tried speaking to my GP surgery 3 times yesterday without success. Each time i called the message was that the receptionists were all busy, the queue of people waiting was full, and to call back later or call 999 if an emergency. Brilliant. Luckily this morning I have been able to obtain an alternative supply of antibiotics which I have started to take, so i'm hopeful that things will start to clear in a couple of days. The tablets came in capsule form. Urgh. I'm not sure whether i have mentioned this before but me and tablets do not go well together. Give me a piece of steak and I'll match Scooby Doo in my endeavours. But even the tiny anti hay fever pills I have to break and chew before swallowing. These capsules end up in my mouth until they eventually melt and it usually takes a whole glass of water and at least 2 minutes to get them down. I'm such a wimp. ;)

That's good going. Probably lost about 10lbs so far. Had a bit of a heavy weekend. Son was visiting from Nottingham so we ate and drank more than usual and got a takeaway on Friday evening. Didn't lose anything but because I know why I'm not too bothered. Didn't gain anything either so that's OK. However on the positive side my sessions in the gym are definitely having an effect. Clothes that were a bit snug a few weeks ago are feeling looser so something must be toning up. I should really measure myself as well as weigh to see progress. I've got a pair of jeans that I really want to wear again so that's my next goal. Calorie counting is the future. There are no 'bad' foods. Everything in moderation. Once it gets a bit warmer and lighter I'll start walking of an evening. That should add to the exercise too.
Thanks for asking.

That's good news Fred. Are you exercising or just cutting out stuff or both?

Good luck getting an appointment Fred. Shocking how under resourced the NHS is.
