Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this beautiful day at least until this afternoon .I hope all had a fine nights sleep and most are pain free .
My SIL has Parkinsons and has for about 8 years now ,she still plays tennis in a league although not at the same level and although there are signs she lives a good life .I don't know what she takes but I could find out if wanted ,saying that each case is individual I suppose as in many other cases .
We had a guy couple living in the last village and we sort of fell out of friends because I asked one to check if his Windows computer could copy my karaoke cdg discs .I got no reply and got a bit peed off for five minutes of his time .I have still been facebook friends with his husband Arto ,when we moved my wife phoned Sami and told him we had moved and it would be so nice for them to visit .I passed recently and decided to call in but no one was home but I had left tracks in the snow ,so I messaged Arto to say it was me and not an intruder . I them said it would be nice to be friends again .
I got a message back this morning more than a week after ,he said he had been very irritated by my mail and went on about my wife being jealous of their house and stopping me being friends with them and so on .
Why I writing this is to show that when this happens we both have different ideas on causation ,we all should talk more and say what we feel ,we have not been in contact for maybe seven years and both for apparently differing reasons - - - - life is too short .

Booked a table for me and the missus for Valentines

Hope she likes snooker
Before we were married and I still lived in Speke, my soon to be missus would occasionally come and meet me in the Box and, if it was quiet she'd sometimes have a game of snooker. She had quite a good eye for ball games and wasn't too bad in fairness. Anyway one night one of my mates, a lad called Danny Gargan, played Cal for a pint and gave her a 50 point start. Danny was a very good snooker player and could get that back in one break. Anyway, Cal beat him and Danny never lived it sown. You could see he was really trying too. it was brilliant. ;)

Had a small growth on my forehead checked today at the hospital. Fortunately, it was benign. Just got to organise an endoscopy now. Not looking forward to it as I even have trouble having the dentist rummaging about in my mouth.
God news about the growth M. After Mrs Ms bad news you must have been expecting the worst.

Been lucky enough never to have had an endoscopy but my brother had a few last year when they were trying to find the cause of persistent vomiting. They aren't pleasant by all accounts so I don't envy you mate. You're going through the mill a bit at the moment aren't you.

Hi Fred and everyone else in here.

Thanks for asking after me. I've been really busy and have spent just about all my spare time over the last week or so redecorating the bedroom of on old lady who lives near me. The walls were covered in woodchip wallpaper, which was an absolute bstrd to get off. Awful stuff.

She's a widow, and told me her late husband put paste on both the wallpaper and the wall to make sure it stayed on. "Well, he certainly did a good job," I said through gritted teeth. She kept popping in to see how it was going, but it was really an excuse to have a chat. She also provided lots of tea and dark chocolate digestives, which provided much needed sustenance for my woodchip hell.

Hope everyone's having a good day. I'm having a woodchip-free day, which is bliss. Currently having a couple of Choco Leibniz biscuits, washed down with Yorkshire tea.
Hope you charged her the going rate BTS. These old buggers are all laded don't you know. lol

Seriously though, why am I not the least bit surprised by this act of generosity. Seems to be a common factor that links the regular posters in this thread.

I’ve got another endoscopy in a few weeks, another radiology before that though.
Absolutely need the sedatives now though, as you say..
The Pill camera I had to swallow years ago was one of the oddest ones I’ve had. I’m sure they are much smaller now like !!
Was unaware you had a condition mate. What is it, if you don't mind my asking?

Morning everyone.

I seems to be getting up later every day since I got back from holiday.

A very delicate operation to perform today. Got a mature Acer ( 10 years old ) in the wrong place so today's the day to move it.

I have to dig an enormous new hole to accommodate it. I've already dug around the existing acer and will gently lift it with the biggest possible root ball and gently move it about 50 metres to its new home.
I then fill the hole with water and float the acer into position before back filling. I also have to move a couple of mature Rhododendron but that's easy in comparison!

All of this to the soundtrack of Radio Merseyside and Frank's blue boys trying to pick up 3 valuable points.

Hope y'all have a wonderful day.

This is typical of you Fred.
You are always thinking of others.
Even today on your birthday , happy birthday mate!
We all know this is a tough day for you but try your best to enjoy it mate.

I guess a lovely lunch at the Ferryboat and 3 points might help.

Have a glass of wine or Guinness for me mate.

Take care.

So sorry to hear about your mum in law. Parkinson’s is an awful condition. My friend’s husband was diagnosed 8years ago at the age of 60. He manages his condition quite well though and attends a club for fellow sufferers and recently they started table tennis sessions, he says they spend most of the time picking the ball up off the floor but most importantly have a laugh. Best wishes to you all.?
Cal and I were on a cruise years ago in the times when you used to have set tables for dinner. Anyway two of the guests on our table were an older couple (probably only in their mid 60s but it was about 20 years ago so we were a lot younger then). We'd actually seen them on a previous cruise and always thought they were a bit snobbish. Well we got quite friendly with them and they weren't snobby at all but a really good laugh. The husband suffered from Parkinsons and although he was OK overall it was very noticeable. He told us a very funny story one evening that had us all howling at the dinner table. he was getting his hair cut one day by just what happened to be a very young and very attractive young lady. Anyway, beyond his control, his hand started shaking underneath the protective gown he was wearing. I'll leave the rest to your imagination. lol Apparently it took about 5 minutes of explanation before she continued cutting his hair.

That's really funny.
