Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Before we were married and I still lived in Speke, my soon to be missus would occasionally come and meet me in the Box and, if it was quiet she'd sometimes have a game of snooker. She had quite a good eye for ball games and wasn't too bad in fairness. Anyway one night one of my mates, a lad called Danny Gargan, played Cal for a pint and gave her a 50 point start. Danny was a very good snooker player and could get that back in one break. Anyway, Cal beat him and Danny never lived it sown. You could see he was really trying too. it was brilliant. ;)
Danny was a good mate of mine back in the day, we were in the same snooker team for the box

Us two Peter Lee , Bernie and Dave Brittles, and Less Webb
Danny lived in Bray rd he married a girl called Jean, they are no longer together

When we moved into our house, the walls were covered in woodchip, some of which had been painted with gloss paint. It would have been quicker to remove the plaster and start from new. Bet the lady really appreciated your efforts and the company though. Hope you enjoyed your wood chip free day. You deserved it.
Your whole house was covered in woodchip?

First up Happy birthday @Barnfred 55 Hope you have a lovely day. I know there will be a huge Cal shaped hole in your day but she will be happy you are celebrating.

Went to the gym last night then, because our other session was cancelled earlier in the week I was back again at 8am! I am wrecked. Although I think I must be improving because the PT has definitely upped the degree of difficulty. We do more reps and heavier weights these days. I even managed a "HRRRAAAARGGGHH OOOSH" like a proper pro when I was trying to lift a bar above my head. I felt quite proud!

So 10 minutes to kick off. Very nervous but the lovely DCL is back so he'll make a difference.

I'm well impressed with @jazzy's tree moving skills. @Armaghtoffee My Mum drummed into us as kids that when the wind was howling and the rain was pouring and we were all snug in bed we should pray for all the seafarers at sea in the bad weather. I still do and have added homeless people as well.

Catch up with you all later

Danny and Jean had already split up when I became mates with him. Knew Peter Lee really well too. Used to work for a freight company IIRC. Think he married Carol O'Neil who used to be married to another mate Barry.

Then it is cooked and ready to wrap overnight in newpaper and a quilt or blanket .When that is done the bones will have melted and it is ready to eat :-View attachment 155706
Sorry mate. Hope your missus doesn't take this the wrong way, but that looks like the alien monster after it had just jumped out of John Hurts chest?

I'm sure it tastes very nice though. The mussels were absolutely fantastic by the way. They also had crispy chilly squid starter on the menu so happy days.

Had a great day so far and the Blues 2-0 up so what more can one ask.? Thanks to everybody for their good wishes.
