Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I honestly thought I was past that.....but I'm not. It is ridiculous really.
I’m making an increasingly fine art of enjoying the wins and trying to ignore the losses. Probably means I don’t quite get the same buzz from the wins but I’ll take it.

Football shouldn’t have the hold over anyone that it once had on me. Far more important things.

With that said, I’ll be watching every available set of highlights for the rest of the week!!

Did not be so tough on yourself , I believe team sport like football and the tribe it makes us feel part of have football has a massive role to play in our modern lives .... especially when we are struggling with other “ more important things “
What I know is that fir me my world looks better when our team is inspirational.

I was like this last week mate.
Was fuming we couldn’t find a taxi back to Lime Street, then got a chocka bus on County Road into town.
It turned into a massive Everton sing song and was a perfect end to a boss day.
Me dad then says ‘ you wouldn’t have had that buzz sat in a taxi son ! ‘
Just brilliant it was.

Easy game for me to get to next week as well, same again would be nice !
Love that!

Have learned to get the soccer bus back into town from Goodison Road and forget all notions of a taxi.

Chucking it down here today so any notion of gardening has gone out the window.
So bit of a lazy day I think.
Some yoga this morning and then footie on telly today.
I will still be hoping that Newcastle and Burnley lose but a bit of pressure off after yesterday's result and performance.
@blue19is of course spot on we need to follow that up with similar level but surely we showed enough in that game to confirm that we will get the results to get out of this situation.

Happy Sunday everybody. Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I had a good day, made better by the Blues result and performance.

My neighbours/landlords are becoming good friends too. They are good people.

Anyway I have the hangover from hell. I need to get up out of bed and put some coffee on. Luckily I had the foresight last night to get a couple of posh sausages out of the freezer so I'll have some stodge for brunch. Think I need it.

Catch up later everyone.

Hi everybody. How's it going? I don't know where today has gone - in training all morning looking at extremist behaviour and does it transfer to the workplace. Quite interesting actually. Loads of admin to do this afternoon so although busy, not very productive. It's very windy here this afternoon and also very cold because of the wind.

@Methuselah. how are you and your wife doing? I've been thinking of you a lot over the last few days. I hope you don't mind me sharing this. In 2017 my Mum was diagnosed with bone cancer. She didn't want treatment but, to be honest, she had avoided the doctor for so long, I'm not sure that treatment would have been an option anyway. However it was her decision and we had to respect it. The doctors said three months at most. We made sure that Mum was on the right medication and was as pain free and as comfortable as possible. We had nine more months with her - and it was good quality of life. If Mrs M is adamant that she does not want treatment then there is no reason why she cannot enjoy a good quality of life with little pain. I'm sure you're awesome daughters will have thought of all that though. Much love to you all x

@Terrarian are you OK? Hope the meds are still working and did you try any of the new suggested shopping list items?
Hi, Guys, yeah I'm ok thanks, been feeling a bit down n not very chatty, just fed up with the constant headaches but I have to live with it and it can get a bit much at times. I did watch the game though yesterday it was a very welcome bit if relief and It 's so nice to enjoy a football match again, If we can at least get the home form right we can work from there for next season.

I did get some new stuff on the shopping to mention but can't remember now, I did get some nougat and fig rolls and I tried a red velvet cake as well lol in fact I spent way way too much on sweet crap.

Morning all, cloudy and windy here with heavy rain forecast. Daughter and family coming round for the day so a morning of baking awaits, but after all the missed Sunday lunches of the last two years I’m not complaining. Hope you are ok @Terrarian, @Methuselah and Mrs M. Have a good day all.
Hi Gwladys, yeah I'm ok thank you, had enough last week just did nothing but I'm perking up a bit now, helps we won a game convincingly for once.
