Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

This is typical of you Fred.
You are always thinking of others.
Even today on your birthday , happy birthday mate!
We all know this is a tough day for you but try your best to enjoy it mate.

I guess a lovely lunch at the Ferryboat and 3 points might help.

Have a glass of wine or Guinness for me mate.

Take care.
Cheers mate. 3 birthday cards which is 1 more than I usually get :)

I'll be having a pint of Korev I think and then a nice glass of red with the meal.

I do. The film Fantastic Voyage. A film when we were kids and they shrank a submarine and it went around a professors body trying to cure him.
It was a great film and Rachel starred in it.
Yeah I know mate. My point was more, there must have been at least half a dozen films along similar lines, but the one I think of just happened to star Raquel Welch. lol

Morning gang,
Hope you charged her the going rate BTS. These old buggers are all laded don't you know. lol

Seriously though, why am I not the least bit surprised by this act of generosity. Seems to be a common factor that links the regular posters in this thread.
She's a lovely lady, so I was happy to help her out, despite my woodchip ordeal. I hope she didn't hear me cursing under my breath.

Happy birthday, by the way, Fred. I know you wanted to keep it low key, and your first birthday without your lovely Cal will be tough, but I hope you have an enjoyable day. Enjoy your mussels and don't let Everton spoil your day.

Hi Fred and everyone else in here.

Thanks for asking after me. I've been really busy and have spent just about all my spare time over the last week or so redecorating the bedroom of on old lady who lives near me. The walls were covered in woodchip wallpaper, which was an absolute bstrd to get off. Awful stuff.

She's a widow, and told me her late husband put paste on both the wallpaper and the wall to make sure it stayed on. "Well, he certainly did a good job," I said through gritted teeth. She kept popping in to see how it was going, but it was really an excuse to have a chat. She also provided lots of tea and dark chocolate digestives, which provided much needed sustenance for my woodchip hell.

Hope everyone's having a good day. I'm having a woodchip-free day, which is bliss. Currently having a couple of Choco Leibniz biscuits, washed down with Yorkshire tea.
When we moved into our house, the walls were covered in woodchip, some of which had been painted with gloss paint. It would have been quicker to remove the plaster and start from new. Bet the lady really appreciated your efforts and the company though. Hope you enjoyed your wood chip free day. You deserved it.

Before we were married and I still lived in Speke, my soon to be missus would occasionally come and meet me in the Box and, if it was quiet she'd sometimes have a game of snooker. She had quite a good eye for ball games and wasn't too bad in fairness. Anyway one night one of my mates, a lad called Danny Gargan, played Cal for a pint and gave her a 50 point start. Danny was a very good snooker player and could get that back in one break. Anyway, Cal beat him and Danny never lived it sown. You could see he was really trying too. it was brilliant. ;)
Happy birthday Fred ,I forgot earlier .Hope you enjoy the mussels .

Morning everyone.

I seems to be getting up later every day since I got back from holiday.

A very delicate operation to perform today. Got a mature Acer ( 10 years old ) in the wrong place so today's the day to move it.

I have to dig an enormous new hole to accommodate it. I've already dug around the existing acer and will gently lift it with the biggest possible root ball and gently move it about 50 metres to its new home.
I then fill the hole with water and float the acer into position before back filling. I also have to move a couple of mature Rhododendron but that's easy in comparison!

All of this to the soundtrack of Radio Merseyside and Frank's blue boys trying to pick up 3 valuable points.

Hope y'all have a wonderful day.
Big job on for you today @jazzy ,will you cover the tree afterwards with a cloth / net ? One of the worst causes of problems in transplanting is the wind drying the tree out before it can drink properly ,like washing on a line an old gardener told me . I wish we could have a Japanese maple here but I cannot keep carrying stuff inside for the winter .

God news about the growth M. After Mrs Ms bad news you must have been expecting the worst.

Been lucky enough never to have had an endoscopy but my brother had a few last year when they were trying to find the cause of persistent vomiting. They aren't pleasant by all accounts so I don't envy you mate. You're going through the mill a bit at the moment aren't you.
Not looking forward to it. Have had a colostomy and if they use the same equipment for the endoscopy will have to make sure I am first up on the day!

No I don't think I'll use a net blue.
I will heavily water today and make sure it doesn't dry out in the next 6 weeks.
