Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Cheers jazzy.

Miles from the coast here so escaping the worst of it.

How’s Blue this evening?
Thanks for asking.

He's OK,, not in any pain that we can discern but not his usual self. We just have to see how it goes.

He's sleeping a lot but still has his appetite.

I'm having to carry him up and down the stairs but in the morning he is still anxious to go and see his granny so he still knows what's going on.

So sorry Jazzy, it's heart breaking, Daisy is only 5 and I'm dreading anything happening to her, she's my sidekick and they're just family aren't they. Leaves a big hole in your life where they were. 15 though if he was to leave us soon he's had a good innings.

Pray tell how one stops a floodlight from falling? As simple as weighting it at the bottom?

Snow forecast for us on Friday and Saturday. Hoping to get to a game Saturday evening so that’s hanging in the balance.
It’s lighting for a footy pitch.
Weighing down the bottom deffo does help, but adjusting the height is also handy. Keeping the right visibility is a pain, as any miss kick I know full well would be down to the lighting and not poor technique !!

We have been without power for 30 minutes now. This is not good. Hope it comes back before tomorrow or I'll have to go to the office in search of WiFi!
On a separate note, my dads boiler packed in a week ago, and even though he has that British Gas cover they took over a week to get heating on in his house and even now the lad said not to turn it off as it might not come back on again ! No chance of speaking to anyone on the phone either, all automated.
£45 a month he pays for that. Piss poor.

Disgusting. My late Mum had one of those contracts. When her boiler broke they came condemned the boiler turned the gas off and left her with a one ring camping cooker and a fan heater and tried to sell her a new boiler. Brother called an independent plumber who fixed the problem on the spot.

My dad got the message from the engineer giving him a time slot of 4 hours.
Sound he thinks.
Engineer turns up and me dads like ‘thank god you’re here, been going next door for a shower for a week !’
Engineer says ‘ sorry mate, I’m here to do your annual service on the boiler, not fix it, I don’t carry parts on the van !’

Luckily, and I mean luckily, he wasn’t a bell end and he managed to get it going for him.

No doubt a few quid off his renewal quote when it comes through, but doesn’t make up for a piss poor service in the first place.

Rant over !

So sorry Jazzy. Hope your fears are unfounded.
