Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good afternoon one and all, beautiful, sunny day up here, I've actually been out tidying the garden for a couple of hours.
Glad to see there are so many Sparks fans out there.
I will be back out and about as normal tomorrow now feeling 100%.
Having a clear out of the garage and a trip to the tip tomorrow.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are doing.
Good to hear that you are feeling better.

Great that you are feeling better LT , how is Mrs LT?

Good afternoon all. Having calmed down about both the penalty travesty and £10 to park I am much more objective today. There's real improvement under Lampard. It can be seen, they work harder, they seem to try harder. I've never seen Iwobi track back and fight to get the ball like he did yesterday. If we keep putting in that much effort I think we'll be OK.

Have just got back - we had to leave a bit earlier than usual because daughter is cat sitting for a friend and needed to be back before her friend left. Had a lovely time. As well as my Dad and brother managed to catch up with my three nephews and also my great niece who has just turned one and is an absolute joy. My Dad looks OK, he made us a chicken curry ( he includes pineapple in it) and the swearing at the telly when the match was on mde me think he's feeling alright about himself.

Incidentally re the airport parking - had we not been staying at the hotel the going rate is £42 for an overnight! It is outrageous. We are ripped off constantly by greedy companies.

@Barnfred 55 How can you not be a fan of Bruce. He is amazing live, politically sound, writes songs that make you think "How does he know?" I swear he wrote "Dancing In The Dark" by looking into my head at that time lol I have the lyrics framed in bathroom! I'm trying to create a music theme in there - the other other two items are a signed tour poster of the Boomtown Rats and an autographed cover of OMD's Electricity ( signed by Paul Humphries) I've also got an autographed pic of Steven Tyler to go in there - which randomly came through the post the other day as a thank you for supporting his Janie's Fund.

@Sassy Colombian I can fully understand your husband's Grandma's feelings. I think when you get to a certain age you make your peace with life/God and think "I'm ready to go" I'm sure my Dad has done that - he's 85 in August and I know he thinks , how much longer have I really got. His Catholic faith is very strong and he wants to be with Mum. That doesn't stop him living the best life he can at the moment but there's no fear, no worry about passing on.

@Terrarian Daisy sounds exactly like my kids when they were little - selective deafness!
She's terrible honestly and she remembers everything, if i stop her getting to something that she wants to pick up n eat, she'll remember where it's at and go straight to it next time we are heading that way and obviously i don't remember everything, she even does it if a long time has passed between walks, infuriating it is. I'm the one has to clean the sick up but touch wood nothing more serious, I'd rather not have to pay a vet over it, not that she understands that's why i shout at her. Its the only thing i can say bad about her she's brilliant in every other way, little bugger lol

I don't know Anj. My brother in law asks me the same question. I guess I've just never taken to his music style.

I've always been a music first person, then the lyrics. So if the music doesn't grab me, I never pay any attention to the lyrics.

I don't dislike him by the way. I'm just indifferent to him. I appreciate a lot of people would treat that as sacrilege.

That explains a lot. Most of my favourite songs are all about the lyrics. I love storytellers (probably why I have a massive soft spot for country music!) Although The E Street Band are all really talented musicians. I would still recommend you going to one of his gigs though - they are an experience.

Son’s cavalier is constantly making himself ill, he’ll eat anything including cat poo. Apparently dogs go for it because ii tastes of fish which they find irresistible.

I'm with Fred on this one. Yes I love songs like Born to Run but for some reason he's not really an artist I've warmed to. Got to be honest I've never really been into American pop music ( there are exceptions like Simon and Garfunkel ,early Stevie Wonder, Stevie Nicks and Hall and Oates ) , now American jazz....now you're talking.

Spent 90% of my time in the Caribbean listening to Bob.
I loved the Jamaicans attitude to Bob. We had a Bob Marley quiz in our hotel one afternoon. You would have had to be related to him to have known some of the answers! The first thing they ever asked was "Do you like Bob?" My truthful answer wouls have been "Not really" But tha t would have hurt their feelings so much I took the easy option and said "Oh yeah great"
