Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Mate. Every time I start feeling sorry for myself I think of you and very quickly pull myself together. Your strength inspires me.

I cry quite a bit and do not confuse this with feeling sorry for myself. It's perfectly natural as I just miss her being around me. The episodes don't last long and I usually feel better afterwards.
I can only imagine being without my wife and soulmate ,having to lose her the way you did is beyond my power .you are entitled to cry as you want ,I cry at ficticious movies so you do what helps/feels best .I hope you do
feel better afterwards as that helps with the grieving I suppose but like the first love you had when you were young you will never forget ,nor should you .
Take time to cry and learn to manage and remember the words you will have said to each other ,that you want the other to live a happy life after the loss .Not today tomorrow or in the foreseeable but one day .
I too cannot believe the strength of @messymascot ,he is and so are you truly inspiring .I am so scared of the same happening to me ,being a selfish bar steward want to go first .

Having the support at home and here shows that there is a lot of people that care about you but I am sure it can also get overwhelming when you need some space.

Sister time it is always good too. I’m actually having my older brother over for dinner tonight along with my mum. He is moving back to Colombia so it is our goodbye dinner. So hopefully the paella comes out well. Wish me luck, I probably will need it.
Don't worry about it Sassy. What's the worst you can do?. Apart from giving them all food poisoning of course lol .

I'm sure it will all be perfect.

Fred, you've still got a lot of mourning to do it's only natural taking everything that happened into account, I guess the last few weeks have been a whirlwind and it's only now you've actually had chance to think about things, but as you've seen having a good cry isn't a bad thing.

I always thought she would outlive me. No idea why as it wasn't based on anything logical. We were both the same age. Maybe just didn't want to think about life without her, but then again why would we when we were both only 60.

@messymascot As promised my dear Karl, here is a pic of my Spanish paella. Everyone was pleased with the results. Next time I am going to use a different chorizo and it will be even better. But for my first time it was still very yummy.

I hope you had a relaxing time with your sis.

Good night and good morning too ?

It can take upto 24 hours to kick in with certain seafood ?

Morning Messy, hope you’ve had a restful night. Grey and windy here again today but still mild. I’m going to do some gardening for my 86 year old neighbour this morning. She used to have a gardener for 2 hours a month but as it’s a front garden he spent most of the time chatting to passers by. At the end of the two hours on the dot he would stop and ask for the money and go, a total rip off. Used to make me so angry, so now I do it if the weather’s good she sits and chats and keeps me supplied with tea and biscuits, so we both win. Hope you have a good day.?

Morning Fred, hope the weather is better down your way today and you are able to get out, sure the paperwork will wait. Good luck with day 3 of de-tox not that I think you need it. The luck that is not the de-tox, think I’m digging myself into a hole here?. Anyway have a good day.?
I was going to offer to lend you a spade but thought you were doing well enough on your own. ?

It is mostly the booze I need a break from. We usually drink a little over the recommended limit but rarely binge drink. Maybe averaging just under 2 drinks a day. But when I was in Liverpool I was practically binge drinking every day and that continued with my brother in law down here.

Decided I'm going to make a big to do list this morning and then prioritise it. Top of the list is definitely a shave?
