Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Unusual place name, the in-Gordano bit sounds very exotic.

Apparently, the Gordano Valley was named as such cos the shape of it resembled an arrow head, in Italian or French or sommet. The first (French/Norman) settler was an aristocrat called Clopton. Clopton, now Clapton, Court is one of the big houses.

If you ever travel south on the M5, past Bristol, but on the bridge before the Gordano services, you will see the shape of the valley quite clearly.

@Sassy Colombian

Our house is several hundred feet below that.
Wow, that looks like high bridge. Can you hear interstate at your house? In Asheville we live near very busy roads so in the spring when the windows are open can get a bit loud for my own preference.

Nope. They have some special tarmac on it. And its hundreds of feet above us. Get more noise from tractors on the lane.

But it was quite a feat of engineering. The 2 tiered road, then had to go through a large hill, so they just chopped the top of the hill off.

I have live LPs and footage on TV, but nothing beats seeing a band live. So sad he and Gary died so young.
Sass, I don't know if you are familiar with Lizzy. If not, I recommend you YouTube The Boys are Back in Town - I remember Radio Merseyside playing this for Everton's FA Cup victory parade in 84 - Rosalie, Emerald, Jailbreak. They will give you a good taste of good they were.

Fabulous band that transcended borders and backgrounds to produce magic on stage.

Tbh I am not familiar with Lizzy at least by name, but I will listen in YouTube the tune you recommended and maybe I’ll recognize it then.
