Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, still cold but a bit scared to put the heating on with the price hikes.

just watched Gordon Ramsey's new program, doing a street food challenge down in Cornwall @Barnfred 55 looked beautiful but they were charging £8 for a cheese toasty, is it very expensive down there?

I saw 9 magpies all together last week, never seen that many before.

Dr will be calling before 9 hopefully, got my little list of problems ready ffs lol

Good luck with the Dr T

I can only remember 7 magpies in the song ....5 for silver , 6 for gold ,7 for a secret never to be told....

Good morning nice clique.

The DCL thread is rapidly up there with the best of GOT and should he either score winners this week or get sent off then it could be an absolutely hall of famer.

I’ve just had an idea writing this of seeing if fans would be happier getting rid of Moshiri, no hang on Moshiri and Kenwright yes that’s it, but sacrifice the stadium for it.

I shall now do a thread poll. We are GOT.

She's just phoned, got to go and pick up a urine bottle and she's prescribed gel for my neck, there's just nothing can be done, I just want to know why I have so many other complications but it's hard to be heard on a phone appt. I'll call back about my hip and pelvis as even though it was mentioned I never got anything back.

I knew this Dr would be hard to get through to, she goes a million miles an hour lol

GOT commissioning a Bramley Moore tee is probably the greatest actual risk to the thing being built.

Very very Everton that.

Morning all, dull day here but at least it’s not raining. Sorry the phone call didn’t goes as well as it could @Terrarian. It’s very difficult to make yourself understood on the phone, our neighbour Blanche was discharged from hospital recently and the follow up appointment was done by the consultant over the phone, he would only speak to her, not even family, she’s 86, hard of hearing and becoming increasingly confused, Keep on at them, don‘t give up, make yourself heard. @jazzy sounds like a relaxing day in prospect, think you may need it in readiness for this evening lol . Whatever you are/aren’t doing have good day all.?

Didn't see that mate. I'll have to watch it on catch up. Even though I'm down living here now I still love watching programmes on Cornwall. There's enough of them on to be fair. There's one on at the moment called Cornwall, a year by the sea, and I'm loving it. It follows the lives of different people operating different types of business throughout the four seasons of the year, and every area they are focusing on we know really well.

It is expensive down here mate but probably no more expensive than say The Lake District up near you. It's because all the catering business's are family run affairs using locally sourced produce which is top notch. You'll see very few of the national chains down here T apart from Wetherspoons and the odd MacDonalds or KFC outlet. No two for £10 down here mate I'm afraid. Which makes it even harder for the local workforce, most of whom are on minimum wage and have 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet. The housing shortage down here is another matter. It's crisis levels.

That's not good mate. I know what you mean about telephone consultations. The problem is that she would have had so many calls to make and will allocate a time for each one, so you end up working to their agenda and timetable, not yours, which is the wrong way around. If I were you I would call the practice receptionist and insist on a face to face consultation.

I'm allowed a face to face consultation if after urine tests and blood tests I need to speak to someone. Anyone get the feeling they're milking the covid now, barely anyone allowed face to face, some only working 3 days.

Pee take if you ask me, I class myself as a fairly good communicator and I struggle to say everything and get the responses I want, god knows what it's like for people who struggle with communication or are hard of hearing like @Gwladysover neighbour.

Beautiful sunny morning again down here and light winds. Think I'll go for another walk and put back the dusting for another day. The rest of the week is looking pretty wet and stormy so make hay when the sun shines as they say. Think I'll try a footpath from the village over to Meuden which I've never done before. It isn't a long walk but will be a couple of biggish climbs as it goes down into a dell and up the other side. Probably quite boggy at the bottom, especially afger yesterdays rain. There's a fantastic hotel at the end of it with the best hotel garden in Cornwall. Like a lot of the gardens around here it's a valley garden with it's own "beach" at the bottom. But I think I'll save that for a nice summer day and go there for a cream tea.

I think the walk may have a view of where I live so I'm hoping I'll be able to take a nice phote when I'm out. Hopefully this one won't be too big to upload. How does that work anyway.? is it down to the amount of detail in the photo.? If so, I may have trouble uploading other pictures taken in some of the lovely gardens around here when in bloom, which will be a shame.
