Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Just watched it on catch up. Glad I didn't go there for my lunch lol In fairness the beach(street) food in Cornwall is usually very good but we normally just got a pasty. A lot cheaper too at between £3 and £4 generally.

The beach they were on is Towan beach in Newquay, one that we've never been to. As the name would suggest it's right in the town centre and terribly difficult to get parking. Plus you're spoilt for choice for beaches in and around Newquay. All of them along the north Cornish coast have the most beautiful golden sand, especially when the tide is out.
Towan is one of the last beaches in Cornwall I'd go to.
So many far better and quieter beaches in that beautiful County.
The town beach of your Falmouth gets crowded too Fred but much better than Newquay.

Gyllyngvase Beach. It isn't as sandy as the north coast but the sea is usually a degree or two warmer. Popular with the students too so Cal's brother was very impressed when we took him there. ;)

Yeah, some of those food shacks/vans look and sound great, we don't have anything like that around here, a burger van is the only street food as far as I know. Sounded a bit expensive to me as well even though the local produce is always a bonus. Last time I was down that end of the country was Torquay back in 98 i think lol

Yeah. There are some great street food vans around. If you go into some of the little fishing harbours like Padstow, Mevagissey, Polperro and Port Isaac you even get them cooking locally caught fish straight from the sea, such as mackerel, sardines, scallops and, if you're lucky, some red mullet which is gorgeous. There's also a truck stop on the road between Falmouth and Truro that we used to go to if we just wanted something on the go. He cooked all sorts from burgers, to steak sandwiches to breakfast baps. All the ingredients sourced locally and was brilliant. A sausage bap would set you back about £3 so not too expensive either. There was even a couple of wooden bench tables in the adjacent field for when the weather was nice. He's always busy.
