Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hi everyone.

Just got back from the hospital.

Mum was initially sleeping which is good because she hadn't slept for some time.

When she woke she was complaining of being in pain. I quizzed the nurse and it transpired that they still hadn't given her the pain patch which she should have had on Friday so I kicked off ( very quietly but very assertive) and hey presto 5 minutes later it was done.

When mum eventually woke she wasn't as confused as yesterday and no hallucinations . Nurse said can we have your phone number in case there's a problem......FFS it's on her records, they phoned me on Thursday to tell me their was a problem with her blood test.

Honestly words fail me

Anyway she was a bit better but hadn't eaten so a small comfort but I'm taking it.
My heart goes out to you, it’s such a traumatic thing to see and experience, especially when you feel you have to fight for everything. It shouldn’t be like that. I’m glad she is a little better today.
It brought to mind the time when my mum was in hospital, very poorly, confused, in and out of consciousness. As it was a couple of days before Christmas a choir came into the ward to sing carols. I watched as my mum with her eyes still closed sing every word of silent night with them. I’m not ashamed to say I cried like a baby and still fill up when I hear that carol.
We are thinking of you all

As you know, I had to be rather ‘assertive’ in the nicest possible way for Kay at the hospital just before Christmas and then everything just kicked into gear. It shouldn’t be like this and it’s hard having to do it, but when it’s the life of a loved one at stake there really is no alternative, so don’t feel bad about it……

Good morning all another clear day here and far too warm for this time of the year . I hope @jazzy 's mum is on the up and that he can have a little respite from chasing the medical staff . Off shopping today as usual and hopefully I can get back to carving granite ,the weather and other bits have not been too accommodating .Then I have my latest toy finally set up -a diagnostic system for the car -professional level. More on that as it unfolds .Have a great day all COYB
