Keep Coady, sell Mina as his body cant take the physicality and we need players our can be consistently available

We can have 4 CB so Tarko, Keane, Coady, Branthwaite

Dont think Godfrey is a natural centre back but keep him as he can cover full back, but sell Holgate too
 
Dyche is doing a fine job of choosing whoever he thinks will get us the results this season, from very limited options and Keane has done ok since coming back in, but he’s still got a rick in him and wouldn’t be a first choice pick for me next season.

Coady just needs to go back to wolves - the money for him World be better spent elsewhere.

Hopefully we get safe and Dyche & Thelwell can gut the squad of the mentality midgets and wage thieves, of which Keane is one, and we get some fresh blood into that dressing room.

Branthwaite is a starter next season.

Coady genuinely isn’t a very good defender though - he’s painfully slow and poor in the air. I’ve been very clear on my my views on Keane ever since he came here and they are not favourable, but coady was very much just an emperors new clothes player who everyone was convinced was a massive upgrade despite him quite clearly not being. They’re at a very similar level, it just sort of depends what you want from them as to who’s better.

Boring and lower mid table next year *at best. But we need to work on top 3rd and the defense is good enough for prem. Currently forward isn't so spend money there (would literally spend 100% on forward). A Madrid always did, then sold, became top team dojnv that.

Even today despite a pretty decent performance there’s still a curved ball down the line into the channel that he completely just runs under and missed the bounce on the ball. Fortunately Tarkowski who can actually deal with the football outside of the 6 yard box had read that he was going to cock up and was right behind him. Get Keane out, let Doucoure go, let Davies go, phase Coleman out (who I’ll admit has been far better this season than I expected), let Gueye go, let Iwobi go.

They’ll all play up for new deals or to avoid the transfer window cull. Then they’ll all slump right back to slacking off with their deck chairs out (Coleman aside who has an excellent mentality but just can’t play every game at the top pace and can’t cross a ball)

Our two best CBs are Tarkowski and Mina. If looks like Mina is finished at the club though so I’d like to see Tarkowski with one of Godfrey or Holgate until we can get Branthwaite back next season.

These comments on Mina - assume you've only ever seen a highlights reel on Tik Tok.!? He's a show pony and utter liability on and off the pitch.

Michael Keane has always had the class of a top player. At last he now has a manager that backs him.

I know you don't like being objective but Keane had about a decade at United as a kid, picked for youth internationals then we signed him for pretty much top money as an England international.

You may or may not like him and he's indisputably had a drop in form in recent years (along with the whole team) but you can't say he's never had "class"

Depends on the system though. Don't forget I was leathered (probably by you) when it was proved we were conceding the most amounts of shots a game, and Coady/Tarko partnership statically the best in the league for blocks and tackles (and keeping us in games). He was doing very well there.

Anything where Keane is introduced you're going to be getting games like yesterday where it's backs to the wall and dropping deep.

Coady is probably not better at that. But as an actual CB in the modern game in a decent set up that isn't ultra defensive...he's a better defender.

And for all the "he's slow and poor in the air" we can list off Keane's minimal attributes.

Coady's had 2 poor games (RS and Villa) IMO. Where as we've had 4 years of Kegger

Coady had about a decade at Liverpool, was picked for youth internationals, and has played for England more recently than Keane so clearly he must have “class” as well.

Would have lost money on that,, i thought they signed JT after Keane left.

Keane's always been very good in a low block, under Silva with Zouma and under Carlo, no issue if thats how we are going to set up - horses for courses.

Some key decisions have to be made at centre back though in the summer, we have far to many and spending far to much on them - 7 - if you include Brantwaite, though Mina and Coady?? could be on their way. When you think we are short of full backs, wide forwards and at 9, we have to balance the squad better.
