Hasn't he got 2 years in his contract? I suspect the reason for the new contract is because as you say Carlo rates him, but in my opinion I don't believe in rewarding people with nice contracts when their performances don't deserve it.

Any decent bid for him and I'd sell him in a heartbeat.

It’s also worth mentioning that he’s easily one of our most valuable and saleable players.

If we wanted to sell him we’d get our £25m back and there’d be no shortage of interest.

Even though I like Michael Keane, I feel we've rushed in a bit here giving him a new contract; it's one less thing for the club to worry about further down the line though, I suppose. He's an England international who appears to still be in Southgates' plans, so I guess we should be able to get a decent fee for him if we decide to sell at a later date.

Carlo is a great manager pal but let's get it right I've watched Michael Keane every game for 3 years at Everton and can make my own mind up on him.

Rather have Keane than Mina anyway tbh. Makes sense the contract as we have other priorities this summer.
