Hes a terrific defender. Week in week out he performs despite playing in such an erratic team.

People have predetermined views on him.but in my opinion he's been outstanding this year. The best pass we played all gane was his through ball to Coleman near full time. That sums up the lack of creativity from the rest of the side.

Also the worst pass to Davies.

Keane is a funny one he's probably a yard short of pace of being the ideal centre back. Good height and strength and decent on the ball. He's brave and positional very good. The only other negative apart from his pace is his confidence issues. My worry is if he has a few bad games the errors may come back. However for the minute he is first pick at CB until the issues arise. Ashley Williams in that first season has a lot to answer for.

He could decide to retire from footy and become a spark and would still be called up by Southgate.

On the one hand I can see why Southgate wouldn’t pick him. Does he really have the pace or mentality to go and win a euros or World Cup? Not in my view. On the other hand I’ve no idea why he then picks Eric Dier and Coady who are even worse.

There’s no consistency of selection with England which means we just spin the wheel each tournament with no idea of who the team will be. Other countries play with a core of players through a 2 year campaign even if it means ignoring the latest flavours of the month.
