It matters not a jot who I’d have had, my worry is Lampard hasn’t got the necessary experience, tries to play football & can’t organise a defence, our players aren’ good enough to play expansive football, we need to get back to the ‘dogs of war’ mentality given our predicament, but If your happy with him, good on you. All I’m saying is I have my doubts whether he was the right man. The results we’ve had since just reinforces them doubts. And stop the RS stuff, it’s boring.

he's been mainly useless now for two seasons. Especially now. Costly mistakes almost every match.
Allardyce ( heavily criticised by almost everyone) was all about defence). That suited Keane. Playing with say 8 defence minded players on the pitch was always going to help Keane.
And Ancelotti playing 4 centre backs was right up Keanes street.
But you are right. Keane at times has been ok. But there are many many times when he wasn't great. Not going to cherry pick every game he's played. Some good....some bad. But at present he's not great. We need better.

Oh no I'm not saying he's amazing - you're spot on, and it's what I meant. When at his limit (which you've basically described and I just glanced over) he's decent. But we can't play to his strengths because it makes the team overall kinda crap.

yep......sorry for having a rant about Keane. But we need better. Holgate is not great either. But that's another thread. Are Branthwaite and Godfrey maybe our future pairing at Centre back. And hopefully Lampard can get us a monster in that position for next season. Also we have better players to hopefully build a team around. Gordon.....Gray and Richarlson all spring to mind.
But it looks like it's Keane for now. Let's hope that he can find some confidence and form. Up The Toffees.....

It's understandable, I'm barely holding it in at times for him, had a rant to my dad earlier.

Holgate is bang average at best, and also a confidence player. I like players like that but we need constantly good players who elevate their game with confidence, not someone who, unless confident, is garbage.

Agree. Holgate could be ok for us. But the pairing of him and Keane is not great at present. Would like to see Holgate paired with Godfrey. But who knows if that would work.
And it's all about mistakes for me. These guys are professional footballers. So I shouldn't be calling them useless. But I just want to see the mistakes cut out. And someone said earlier that anyone can make a mistake. But we make far too many.
But let's see. Starting with a clean sheet against Wolves.......And our forwards finding their scoring form.... Up The Toffees.....

A mistake is fine, everyone can make one.

When the game just starts and we know that he has at least one that leads to a goal in him... nah, cmon, a professional...

If you're like that at your job, in which you're supposedly one of the topmost people, the simple things would be expected to be that - simple and easy.
