I'm pleading for patience rather than championing him as a top class CB.

Look at what he did last season and look at his age, then look at who's managed him since he arrived
Getting bailed out by a better player in Mee every week is what he did last season.

I say look at what Robles did last season, keep loads of clean sheets and organise the defence in front of him.

He hasn't played that often, and when he has its been with worse players. I don't think its a matter of giving him much credit, its just pointing out that until you put him in a defence that has been organized competently its impossible to assess how good he is.
He's played 20 odd games and failed to impress in a single one imo.

He needs an entire team on the defensive to look competent, rather than playing in a high line etc

...we simply can’t play a high line with this lad in the team or we’ll get crucified, I presume having a deep back four was part of Walsh’s playing strategy otherwise we surely wouldn’t have bought Keane. The trouble with playing deep is that we struggle to get up the pitch.

It’s all such a mess.

Must be hard for him. New team and has two absolute clowns alongside him in Martina and Williams.

Agree to an extent mate but he was woeful again today. Time and time again Burnley tried the same thing and he couldn’t deal with it. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Dyche knew it was his main weakness and they targeted him. My old man calls him the Tin-Man, he’s not wrong.

Dyche targeted him today. Every other side will

We go in at 1.0 at half time. Couldve had another. Created good chances.

But Dyche saw a huge weakness, brought another tall physical player on, and it paid off.

The lad is weak.

Well who do we stick next to him for the next three games? Couldn’t cope today with the long ball and physical players.

Holgate isn’t exactly the tallest or much of a physical presence.

Keane was completely left in the dust for the first goal, forcing Pickford into make the second mistake in a sequence that led to Burnleys first goal
Of Course barnes left Keane in the dust, first, Williams was closer to Barnes when the ball was hit, second, from the time the ball was hit, and the time that Barnes hit it AT the 6 yard box, he covered 30 yards, while Pickford only had to come 3. But he didnt. Look again where Barnes is when the ball is hit, and when he finally reaches it. Pickford played very well in that game but that was a monumentus error on PICKFORD. Keane's error was small, and he cant be expected to cover the 6 yard box from the position that play started in, which is what you are suggesting. Pickford was primarily responsible for that goal.
