He definitely did today.

Thing is, from what I can see, right now you have no defenders comfortable defending 1-on-1 so it seems madness asking them to do it.

Gut-wrenching as it is a bit of pragmatism is needed right now because that was a bad performance from Everton today. Some real quality individually but you weren’t a team at all, no joined up thinking at all.

I really do feel for you. I’d love to see you finish above that red lot, but that summer transfer window was a car crash. Madness to spend £25 million on a centre-half and then ask him to do things he’s not very good at.

That bad performance is the norm this season, how we are 11th or higher is startling and shows how poor the league really is.

Yet he's done perfectly fine whenever he's played CB

Holgate had one mare against Stoke which saw him discarded by Koeman for ages last season, Keane for me has put in about 50% of his games to the standard that saw Holgate kicked out the side so far, looks an absolute donkey, and for me don't see a single redeaming feature in any game i've seen him play for us.

Mori for all his many faults at least had some good recovery challenges and a bit of pace - and could actually head a ball, Keane seems to have all the worst qualities of all the cb's at the club. - Speed of Jagielka, turning ability of Williams, strength of Holgate, positional sense of Mori, Bravery of Williams, Leadership qualities of any of those - as none have any to speak of anyway. Utter yard-dog of a player.

All he needs to learn now is to pull his shirt over his mouth like a 5yo from Williams, how to hang his head dejectedly after a goal like Jagielka does, and how to get sent off to compound him playing utter crap like Mori and Williams have to a t.

There’s no chance we’d have him back. Not because he’s not a good player - Dyche still raves about him - but it’s just not what we do.

We knew Keane would go two years before he did and we signed Tarkowski to prepare. This summer we’ll sign a lad called Joe Worrall from Forest for when Tarks goes at the end of next season. Because we have to be careful with transfer fees we have to be a lot more deliberate in our planning.

The other thing is Keane would smash our wage structure.

The best way to build a team, by doing your due diligence properly, Moyes was masterful at it,look what happens when you have money and give it to a fat kid in a cake shop.

Cheers for that feedback mate but what you mention is the problem. You've just said he looked great when his centre back partner was 6 yards away from him, the full back was tucked in and the centre mid was just in front. Unfortunately mate we can't mother him by surrounding him with 3 others players to clean his crap up, he's a defender who csnt defend, can't turn, runs like my mum, plays like my mum.

Honestly, I'd flog him back to you for 5m in a heartbeat.

One of the biggest bottlers for a centre back I've seen at Everton for years. Woeful player.

Well done today as well mate, good team performance and a fully deserved 3 points

Like or dislike Moyes, i can guarantee that Keane would have been out the door within a season under him mate, he'd have 100% got the Kroldrup treatment due to his utter lack of any spine

UTTER, UTTER [Poor language removed]! The 10A turns faster than him at the pier head and jumps like a he's got concrete undies on. As for Williams, what a complete [Poor language removed], should never wear our shirt again.
Been saying this after he played about half a dozen games. He can't move, neither upwards or side to side. Over short distances he gets skinned. He turns slower than any player I've seen in living memory. Face him, shift the ball to the side and you will ghost past him.

He's a championship footballer, at best. The Premier League is probably the quickest league in the world and he has no place in it, with the sole exception being Burnley as they played as a compact unit that left few spaces to be exploited.

When isolated he is done for.

..hope things are ok with you, S. Many thanks for sending us your weather.

I appreciate the Allardyce fume, but I’m amazed Steve Walsh is still in a job given the clear weakness in this squad. It beggars belief.

Yeah things are fine mate - more than in fact, will pm you ;)

I think he might struggle to get into the Tranmere side on his current form.

Hard to defend him after that. Playing against old team - point to prove and all that. Spent his whole career in England and not been asked to bring the ball out, he’s been asked to play a role that sees him head had it clear if the air, challenge for the ball, physically dominate forwards, block and go with runners.

Of any side in the Prem,Burnley played in a way against him that should see him at his most comfortable, crosses coming in from wide that need dealing with, balls played down the channel and a centre forward looking to take it short and flick it on or attack a cross if played in towards goal.

Oh my god. He was shocking, said before he reminds me of a light house, static in movement and a head that swivels round after the ball is played around him. England caps? That United link must have helped there - Emperors New Clothes – he is shocking. No pace, no physicality, no anticipation, isn’t vocal, can’t win an aerial duel. The French lad has been rightly called out for his disinterest. Keane? Someone will have to help me as to what he brings to defensive capability.

Holgate? Not sure what you’ve done son to upset the soon to be extinct Samasaurus but it must have been bad mate. Troubling young fillies in Dubai nightclubs must be a new phenomenon to our departing fossil who embarrasses the name of our rich history more than a youngmillionaire footballer accepting the invitation of young ladies looking for attention.

Been going the game since 1981 and i have to say this lad is one of the worst players I have ever seen at this once great club of ours, whoever thought he was worth all that money needs their heads examining. The amount of times he gets done by the oppo striker is an embarrassment. 3 of our 4 defenders today would struggle to get into a decent Championship side and don't get me started on our useless manager and his [Poor language removed] tactics, the sooner he's packed off the better

Burnley fan here with my two penneth.

I was shocked at just how poor Michael Keane was today. He was bloody awful and a shadow of the player I watched last season.

Just a couple of points i’d like to make :-

1. Keane is pretty rapid, I promise you. He may not be showing it now but he was the fastest player at our club last season.

2. This “Ben Mee” covered for him thing. Ben Mee is a Burnley hero but he’s a pretty basic defender who is incredibly brave. He’s not Cannavaro or anything like that.

I can only put it down to our system and - to be frank - Everton’s absolute lack of one. At Burnley our centre halves know that when we don’t have the ball his other centre half is no more than 6-8 yards away from him, his central midfielders are in front of him, his full back is tucked in and the winger is tracking back. Today you could have driven a bus through the space between Keane and Martina and DCL did not help him at all.

No centre half likes a ball in behind him and running back toward their own goal but we forced Keane to do that all game. Keane with the game in front of him is a vastly different player, I promise you.

What I will say is that he did not look up for it at all today. He was neither touch tight to Barnes or sitting off to pick up the flicks. He was just in no-man’s land meaning Barnes wasn’t pressured when the ball was played into him at all. His face ...... he just looked terrified. Was odd to see.

Just one last word - Ashley f’ing Williams. He was utterly dreadful today and he wants shooting for that second goal and the sending off. There’s a vid doing the rounds on Twitter where he swung an elbow at Wood about 5 minutes before he got sent off too - real lucky to get away with that.

I don’t like Allardyce, I think he’s a [Poor language removed]. His interview and his smirk during it angered me so God knows how it made you lot feel. Fingers crossed you bin him off soon.
No offence but we keep Getting Burnley fans saying he is rapid. I just can’t see it he is so slow.

Don’t get me Wrong Calvert Lewin was recorded in the top 5 fastest players earlier this Season & we have a massive number of bulbs saying he is too slow but I don’t seen this supposed pace.

I’d love too be proved wrong but ultimately if I had to Describe him I’d say he is a slow wimp.
