Still not writing him off, still don't think he's 100% over the foot problems from earlier in the season, willing to bet that under a more competant manager he'll come good
Maybe!
However, I have read many times how those injuries and refered injuries go on for a lot longer for some when in difficult periods of football, sadly Im beginning to believe he has not got the metal for a scrap or the awareness for an Everton center back.

He looks timid and bewildered and particularly yesterday he was desperately uncomfortable.

His duel with Barnes was about as mismatched as I have seen at this level and that simply shouldn't happen. We paid a big fee for Keane and Barnes despite being under-rated and hard-working shouldn't be giving anyone nightmares. It was like watching a 17 year old kid on his debut.

I have sympathy for his injury issues and affect of everything on his confidence but I don't want to see him playing again for us unless and until he can get it together.

I can understand that taking him off early would be detrimental to him longer term but after going one up yesterday I would have got him off after 30 minutes. We got warning after warning and Barnes' goal was inevitable.

Having just watched the first goal, him and Williams were equally culpabale.

Keane blindly follows the man in front, leaving a massive space for Barnes to run into, Williams sees this and chooses not to fill the space or communicate the fact with Keane, then makes no attempt to run with Barnes.

Pickford contributes to both goals too, by remaining on his line.

It`s such basic footy, it`s untrue.

For the second goal, Keane just just gets bullied off the ball, simple as that.

He needs to be taken out of the team for his own good. His confidence is shot to bits.

That goal was Williams fault for ball watching and he lost his marker, although I do agree about Keane in general awful defender

The 2nd goal was from a corner, Williams lost his man who scored

I was talking about the first goal in particular.

The second is just a mess, involving the two centre halves ( again ) and Pickford.

It`s the same thing every game, the centre halves getting split, an opposition player then gets inbetween them, whether in open play or on corners.

It`s the absolute basics of defending that they`re getting wrong every game.

There is yet to be made, a skip big enough to hold all the rubbish gathered about Everton; but when there is, Keane is one of a multitude who needs to be thrown into it.

Yep, he proved that against Southampton away, he bottled it big style, watching his demeanour you could tell he couldn't wait to get off with his 'injury'

The thing is if his " heads not right ", the coaching staff should recognise this and either take him out of the firing line or work on helping him resolve his problems ( maybe they have been ? ).

Something isn`t right with the lad, that`s for sure.
