2017/18 Michael Keane

Mentioned it the other day, it was said tongue in cheek whilst he was getting bandaged up from a cut.

I think the guys a coward who's always turning his back on everything. Pretty sure he was putting his body on the line for Burnley.
Yeah I know, I was just joking

It's been said before but some of the things he does you can't really put down to low confidence or being out of form. A little bit of movement is enough to lose him, he's not strong in the tackle and gets beaten in the air by anybody running across him. The best CB's are equal parts reactive and pro active, I'm not sure Keane fits in to either category. Looks like he needs to be sat deep with lots of protection.

I agree.

Hopefully he’ll be sat deep on the bench at the weekend.

Wasn’t too troubled today by a championship standard Brighton side, but couldn’t help thinking Duffy looked way more solid & coped with our attack a lot better than Keane would have.

We could really do with shipping him out in the summer, but can’t see anyone paying remotely near what we paid & with Jags (age) & Williams (shiiiite) needing replacing, we may be stuck with him. Thanks Ronald..

Seemed settled enough with the other three today but still a bit shaky at times. Certainly a big improvement on last week either way.

I feel pretty comfortable now saying that bringing in Keane was a big mistake.
I would agree if the entire back line hadn't struggled all season (plus Coleman was missing for almost the entirety of it). If this continues into next season, I will be much quicker to pass judgement on ye.

Leicester might be willing to take Keane - they were interested last summer but put off the asking price. Wes Morgan is another year older.

I think it would only be fair to pass judgement on him if we maintain the same back four for the rest of the season. He has played poorly in a constantly shifting badly performing back four. Lets see if he fares any better with Seamus, Jags and Bainsey next to him. If he remains gash, then the odds are he wont cut it, but i do think we write players off way too early nowadays.
