Ronaldo a bad attitude? What?

Rolling round on the pitch and crying about being tackled, while I don't like it, is no indication whatsoever as to whether a player's got a bad attitude on the training ground or a bad personality.

If Ronaldo ever had a bad attitude there's no way he'd be one of the best players in history. In fact he's probably got one of the best attitudes in world football and always has.

Ridiculous example.

Yeah, Ronaldo can be an idiot on the pitch but his attitude is near perfect.

I heard once Ronaldo (and his people obviously) went as far as doing an investigation of his bit, i.e the position of his teeth, to make sure that i wasn´t making the muscles in his neck tense during training/matches.

Wenger introduced this as part of Arsenal's medical examinations when he joined the club

Didn't Duncan solve his injury problem in his legs by removing a wisdom tooth?

Using ronaldo as an example, the best players are the ones who dedicate themselves to the game to be the best. Looking back over time there has been a lot of players who just didn't apply themselves to their best on and off the field and just wasted their potential. The only exception i can think of is Ibrahimovic, everything has came natural to him and he has never really developed away from his original style, just improved over the years.

In regards to Batushyi's atitude, although i think we aren't signing the player we had not heard of a couple weeks ago i think he can be settled down. Moving to a new country with a new team, away from his family, friends and vices he could really commit to the club and become a decent striker. Just because he is a bit of a tit now doesn't mean he will always will be.

Obviously the other side of the above is getting drunk, getting a prositute pregant and destroy your family whilst your career whittles away ala Meyde. But surely we have learnt our lesson there.......Don't pay them too much.

I think we've all known people who are perfect gentlemen in everyday life but get them on a football pitch and they become animals!

With respect to Ibra , he applied him self heavily to other aspects such as becoming a black belt in various martial art forms which have been very key to him becoming a top player...you can see it in his goals and the way he plays....he is crazy good...

I wasn't aware of that, a little bit of an odd way to improve your footballing skills but what do i know?

What i meant was applying themselves. Last out of training every day, Beckham taking free kicks for hours until he got them right, Rooney following everyone's advice and becoming the team player is he, Ronaldo getting his head down at United and really progressing through effort not expectancy......There is plenty of examples. Putting it simply the best players in the world are the best for a reason, they have worked their arses off to achieve it. As much as talent gets them, its the effort that takes them to the top.

That is why the likes of Coleman, Barkely, Stones are fantastic players for us, they are putting the effort in to improve, not simply expect themselves to be in the team. This is why Lukaku will be the best striker in the world in 3 years or so, he is finishing his apprenticeship in playing at our club so next season he has had 2 solid seasons with an average team and a good team. The expectancy is that stepping up again will go to a european class team, with better players to pass to him.

Yeah I totally agree with everything you said....just that Ibras talent isn't all natural, his athletisim for such a big guy comes largely from his kung fu (or whatever is it)....seriously though you can see it in most of his play and goals I.e the leg flicks/kicks etc

Or don't sign them and avoid the risk, surely we learnt after VDM.

That's what makes some people the winners they are. Granted a lot of people become animals just because they're knobheads, but for a lot of top players that's why they're so good. Suarez, for example, is an absolute horror bag of the highest order, but without that mentality he wouldn't be as good as he is (when he's not banned).
