I remember him scoring an own goal in the Derby (1979), the game ended Two-Two, and both teams had a player sent off.

Yes he told a story about that he was in town in a club that night,and this fella came up to him and give him the thumbs up.Mick said mate give us a break and the fella said [no i am a blue i had you down as the first goal scorer]
 

True blue Everton hero, was great as a striker or centre half, I could be wrong but I am sure that he got on the bench for the full England side.
When he was playing you knew one of us was out there.

Yes, you are correct.
Mike was away and had played for the England under 23 team.
The following night, due to several injuries, he made the bench for the Full England team but sadly didnt get on
 
How Mick persuaded Bally it had to be Everton...
