Really is a shame we couldn't add a forward in January..... not easy in January window blah blah, I know. But is it really hard to improve on Valencia and Kone?

that's my overall last thought about todays game , our bench and subs were pathetic.

lennon Valencia and kone who didn't come on ??? all 3 are shockingly pointless

why didn't we sign a striker ? answers on a postcard to ' deulofeu would have been a better option than all 3 of those joke players and lookman, so why even let him leave ? competition , CO ac milan , italy'

exactly mate, and if it doesn't happen and we are rueing another crap performance we will take it on the chin and be here next year saying the same again.

I swear mate, one day we are going to absolutely pummel them away and it will be the type of win and performance where we won't give a flying one if they beat us for another 10 years after because we will have finally crushed the notion that we are inferior. It's a player complex, it rubs off on the fans. Koeman can change this imo, can grab a Kopite shirt and rub his balls on it for all I care but one day mate, one day! ;)
There has to be a game in my lifetime where they literally don't turn up and we put in a masterclass, closest to a hiding I've seen was the AJ 3-0:confused:

it's coming mate, not sure when but it's coming. That game was boss, never seen my missus so angry so I told her to f off and leave me to bask in the glory, didn't let her back in the house until the end of the night lol

The bench today really emphasized just how crap our windows have been in getting in quality.
That goes for a lot of teams as well, in the summer we should have strengthened but then really who could we attract after two awful seasons? In January the prices are unreal, hopefully we're saving the money for a big spend in the summer.

Generally, our away record has been pretty poor for donkeys years.

We don't ever win at the big clubs, and for the most part otherwise, we nick a win here and there at other places, and have to settle for an outcome like todays very often.

It's the mentality we adapt going into the games as well as always being seemingly short of quality in 1 or 2 key areas that always costs us.

There is nothing we can do about todays result, and its hardly the end of the world.

I thought our bench today showed why we couldn't turn a 0-0 into a 0-1 though.

We don't have a squad capable of challenging for the top 4. The first XI is 3-4 players short in my view and the squad as a whole about 6.

Fill those gaps with better players that give us options and expectations will rise accordingly.

I don't think RK will be overly bothered about today's result and that's ok, he above everyone else knows and has spoken publically about our limitations.

I want us to get to a point next season though where the investment has been made and a repeat of today's result against inferior opposition becomes much harder to take, notwithstanding the natural blips and disappointments that every club has to endure over a season.

In all honesty though what would the striker have done? Its not like we had numerous chances to score and Lukaku fluffed it. Other than his chance in the first half i cannot think of any others he had. I would bemoan the fact that we have no-one to take Ross place if he has an off day. The lack of creativity is more of a problem than the slotting of them when given the chance.

I got up early to go to this - wish I'd stayed in bed.
Everyone for the most part just looked a fraction out. Admittedly we could have won, but 1st half defending was schoolyard at times.
Middlesborough - not my kind of town.
