great save by Joel, fair play Valdes that's 2 great saves from Lukaku and Lookman as they were the 2 best chances

We didn't create enough. Should be scoring one of those chances really, but we just couldn't get any sustained pressure. Largely as out centre halves were defending on the back foot and not squeezing boro. Fairly grim stuff and unfortunately wed nothing to bring on to liven it up.

one of them games mate by the looks of it the 37 seconds worth of highlights off the bbc. I'd expect Lukaku to finish his chance but only because he's lethal on one on ones but no shame in missing that. type of games when u do get a half chance or a one on one you gotta slot them to win.

So I put it down to this, are we considerably better than last year? Are we still in a position to get into Europe? Are we battling for 12th place? We are considerably better than we have been for the past 2 seasons, therefore a draw at boro on a shitty day isn't a bad result. We'll be lucky to get euro, we'll be exceptionally lucky to get champs league. But all in all our transitional season isn't going too bad IMO

First half, Lukaku clean through on goal.

Boro keeper comes way too far off his line too early.

It was a simple chip shot for Lukaku to score.

Hit it straight at the keeper...

Shakes head in disbelief...

Valdes is a bit of a flapper, but he's one of the best one on one keepers I've seen. He was phenomenal at then for barca. Barca didn't give up many chances but when they did they were often clear cut ones. And Valdes save them on hundreds of occasions.

All this talk of us finishing 4th for only the second time in the last quarter of a century is just pie in the sky. Our run-in is a particularly difficult one and we're currently 8 points (plus goal difference, so call it 9 points) behind 4th place.

I think we'll definitely finish in the top 10 for the first time since the 2013/14 season and I think we have a reasonable chance of getting into Europe, but top 4? No chance.

Let's get real.

4th was never ever going to happen. only realistic place is 6th.

Boro have gotten points in 14 of their 25 matches and they were at home. They are s@#$ to watch but aren't exactly a s@#$ side.

We were a bag of nerves on the odd occasion they made forays into our penalty area. Although we kept a fourth clean sheet in our last six, I don't think Williams and Funes Mori are the long-term answer moving forward.
