Migrant Crisis

Nice try, but seriously what are you doing. In WW2 children from Liverpool were sent to Wales to escape the bombing and they were housed with people who just opened their doors to them. I read that 11,000 Icelandic families have offered to put up Syrian refugees. I'm sure that if you wished to, the government could arrange for you to take a family......
seriously under the current system they couldn't. And if this Government provide support for people to do this then you would hopefully find people willing to do this in their tens of thousands. It is still a nation full of people with decency. I am guessing you would not be one of them but would probably still complain that they are getting in your way when you queue for your copy of The Sun.
And sadly I feel this government would be happy to lean on the people who will help so those who won't can save a bit of tax to waste on investment schemes that go up in smoke.

Like someone said ISS will be using this to their advantage but I suppose this is not migrants concern. They just want a decent life like us.

i dont understand why wanting to help people and willing to to pay more tax i snot reasonalbe point of view? no, you have to have them in your own house or your hypocrite

your argument is nonsensical

No it isn't. You always want to spend someone else's money and do not consider any effects upon the current 64million in the country. While your concern is well meant, I'm more impressed with what people do themselves as opposed to what they expect others to do on their behalf.......

Let them all in. Humanity should share the burdens of its actions and fairly distribute resources in my opinion. Btw this is just the very beginning of this. Global warming and environmental damage coupled with war and civil unrest will lead to greater levels of human migration. We'll probably see the rise of this 'anti immigrants' rhetoric both politically and through the media. Our options will be to build up walls or knock them down. Sadly it will probably be the former

if you can find one, that can cook, bit of gardening kids are quite and they don't mind living in my shed, put me down for one

You jest, but I'd say domestic staffing (au pair, housekeeper etc.) is one of the more common pastimes for young migrants into the UK. I know a good number of Czech's that started off in that line of work before progressing. The pay is usually peanuts but they're given free bed and board.

You see, you immediately try to paint someone as a certain type, who would read some rag of a newspaper. I would be more than happy to put up a refugee Syrian family and indeed when I have moved my family around I will be offering just such an arrangement.....so now what are you willing to do........

and all these services are being slashed to pieces. and I would suggest chatting to these organisations because the one thing they will all tell you is that people being without homes has almost nothing to do with a lack of places potantially available and certainly nothing to do wth our ability to build homes.

We do this regularly through housing homeless people for up to a month and discussing options with a number of bodies.

My concerns are pragmatic. If the homes don't exist now then it won't be of help to anyone to suggest that they do. If the current political situation is one which discourages social house building, it's one which the British people voted for recently.

you going to an extreme to win an argument

its the old 'well what if it was your kids' argument

absolultely. we have been lucky with our environment but that will change at some point and you can bet it will be the anti-immigration people trying to bend all the rules to get away quicker than others

but we do need to distinguish when talking between saying there is no room and the reality of there being no access and no will. I agree about the practicalities under this government but was really making a point that people should distinguish between what can be done and what they won't do

They also took over the extra land, housing, infrastructure and people with the same language. Now if they'd invited the whole of Somalia to stay in what was West Germany I'd have been more impressed.........

I think you probably underestimate the enormity of that process. Hundreds of thousands of East Germans moved west en masse over a very short period of time and many more displaced, returned from eastern bloc countries.

this is the whole moral hypocrisy in a nutshell. If they had been carjacked and were left in the middle of nowhere would they be happy with people driving past them because they thought someone else might have more room. And then would they be happy to be told that there were not enough police resources to file a report. Or would they be the first to moan about the lack of decency in society.
