But they were baddies once upon a time weren't they? Even though there was no terrorist organisations or the atrocities (That they carry out on their OWN PEOPLE on a far bigger scale the west has ever done) on the scale there is now without them.

There's no pleasing the muslim world - we'll ALWAYS be the decadent western infidel. Those deaths by muslim fundamentalists are on muslim hands - nobody else's.

Do you only read what you're told to? The Mujahadeen were created by the west for the sole purpose of drawing USSR into a Vietnam type conflict, costly and unwinnable. Not the other way round.

No one batted an eyelid when the Taliban took control subsequently, still funded via the CIA, nor when they started blowing up monuments ( only the Times ran a two pragraph piece that was never followed up), things that are suddenly an atrocity now, to suit the narrative.

Who's side are we on in Syria? Do you know? Do you think the wst knows itself? The answer is both, they funded both sides, created one in ISIS, and havent supported those at the sharp end against ISIS despite calls to...

What your opinion comes across as is the regurgitation of spoon fed propaganda with no contrary dialogue or information, which is patently wrong.

It is the choice between freedom fighters and terrorists, Irgun were freedom fighters, Hamas are terrorists, so we are told, so most believe, it's a tactic used for centuries to garner support for something in reality, and truthfully, they normally wouldn't

good documentary doing the rounds about the cia and helping train and fund the taliban then cocking up the aftermath
despite being warned by members of it who approched them to try and curb the more radical elements.
 
Pictures are more powerful than television recordings

We will and rightly so be seeing this photo for years to come

Its powerful image will constantly tell everybody to forget politics, forget religion.

It will tell us we have a morale obligation to help the more unfortunate people in this world, who are trying to escape from horrors we will hopefully never face

Let's hope this picture will prick the the consciences of world leaders and they make the right decisions and help these people

Just so sad watching this unfold, as you know there will be more deaths

Rightly? I assume the kid's remaining family were asked before his picture was plastered all over websites and magazines to get traffic? It's moral porn, people just sharing it to show how caring they are. The fact that it kills any sensible debate about immigration comes second in tragedy only to fact that it shows what a bunch of self-indulgent voyeurs the west has become.
 
Some many issues at stake, some many problems causing it and so many emotions attached to it all. But at the heart of it all now is a humanitarian issue. Britain which threw its doors open in the 1930s to Jews fleeing Nazi Germany now risks being an international pryiah. Collectively though the West has monumentally chuffed up the Middle East. Not so much heard now about Arab Springs is there?! Suddenly the West isn't quite so smug about matters.
