Migrant Crisis

im very liberal. i havent got any rasist tendancies. i can talk to ANYONE, in a fair and equal manner, i dont judge people at all. i have an opinion like everybody else on here and i like to air my views.

i have nothing to hide here.

im just concerned with our ever bulging population. and concerened with the amount of people actually willing to die to get to our country. it is completly non sensical. (i am reffering to economic/illegal migrants rather than syrian refuggees, alltho that does worry me that we will have a vast influx of terrorists amoungst them)
so why ask if I have ever lived among migrants? Shouldn't your only concern be how populated it is. Whether it has enough service etc.. In my experience these things are always down to whether a government has the will to make sure that how you are treated isn't determined by where you live. That is why any repsonsibility for a lack of services, lack of opportunity is very much on their hands and not anyone who chooses to live here.

can we agree that 99% of europe is a safe haven for an asylum seeker??

if yes, then why do these asylum seekers travel throughout europe in a bid to get to the UK, risking theirs and their families lives in the process, when any number of countries they travel thro will happily accept them??

theres an actual que in France of people willing to die just to have a go at getting here. why is that? i dont get it?
they generally try to settle well before arriving at the UK. If they don't it is down to whether an area has a community that can support them already there. Think we would all feel like that.

Oh aye? And who funds isis? You'll find it's mainly Saudi oil-backed wealth on a far greater scale than any prior Western involvement.

West did nothing militarily in Egypt - the muslim brotherhood took over & the region (Especially in regards to Israel) was destabilized more than what it was when mubarak was there.

Tunisia - the west did nothing militarily in the original 'arab spring' & now they've got a breeding ground for terrorism.

Syria - West has 'interfered' militarily on a minimal scale there, as opposed to the countries listed further below. Now their refugees are in Europe, NOT in the oil-rich arab states.

Libya - West intervened militarily in a bigger way than Syria, and now look at it since gaddafi's gone?!

Iraq - West invaded it. Saddam went and now look at who's running the place.

It's either a despot tyrant running the gaffes but keeping the region a lot more stable with very little, or no terrorist faction - and the muslims howl that we're not doing enough to help them; or when we do & the looney factions like isis fill the void then we're 'interfering' and 'it's all our fault' when muslims are killing indiscriminately - but killing fellow muslims as well.

Why are they allowed to have it both ways?

Because that's the only thing that fits the narrative. All of the above is officially sanctioned doctrine, not necessarily the whole story. Assad = good guy, Assad = bad guy, depends which story benefits the western interests at the time.

The ambiguity is an essential part of geopolitics, the flexibility to swap sides as long as the commercial interests are maintained.

Iran = very, very bad guy, blow up the whole world, naughty, naughty, now, Iran = good guy, big friend of the west....hmm, duplicity, bishop to Kings rook 3....it's all a game of chess...

And why should we do so in disproportion?

It's about time the middle-east oil-rich nations lived up to their responsibilities - it's happening on their own doorstep to the same muslims they're meant to show charity & compassion to. As I keep saying, twas the west sorted out the balkans while they did sod-all other than express their outrage - but where were they & where was their 'outrage' when the Christians in East Timor or South Sudan were being slaughtered by muslims on an industrial scale?

Simply? Because the west claims moral superiority, yet never really backs it up with genuine actions of assistance. Throwing money at it helps in the short term, long term, the actions of the western profit seekers need to stop fomenting the anger of the prophet seekers from the east.....nimps eh?

However, to argue that we shouldn't help because others aren't is quite frankly pathetic.

Tell that to the muslim states who did f-all but wail their outrage during the balkan conflict. (Just about all of them)

Until we have done everything we can, we shouldn't be criticising others.

Everything we can? Balkans (At their behest) First gulf war (At their behest) Libya (At their behest). What have they done (other than Jordan & Lebanon) for the refugees?

In regards to the Muslim bashing, I'll hold my tongue.

Muslim bashing? Let's have a bit of perspective here - I haven't killed, raped, maimed, or tortured any of them.

I point out the common denominators and I'M the fascist? Ok, mate.

I'll give you some perspective. There is conflict the world over. The vast majority of it is geopolitical or tribal. The west choses to portray some of it as religious, to serve its own agenda.

I think you probably know that my Mrs is a Muslim. I love her because she is kind hearted, generous, caring, considerate etc. Whilst her faith has shaped who she is, I don't love her because she's a Muslim. I love her because of the person that she is. How I feel about the Mrs doesn't determine how I feel about all other Muslims, French people or women.

In the same respect, people who are evil shouldn't be judged on anything other than their actions. Furthermore, all other people's who share a common trait to evil people shouldn't be judged on the actions of others.

I'm really not sure where I called you a fascist btw.

DC to announce we will take the sick, and ill out of the camps we have already built for Syrians as refuges not the boat people, just a token gesture he does that when he has got IDS crunching the benefits on our own disabled.
no wonder only 33% put this spineless leader in power!

To be fair mate religious ideology is an important factor. A Buddhist being a pacifist is directly linked to his religion. A Muslim blowing himself up because HE believes (not all Muslims) that he will go to Paradise is directly linked to his religion.

Not all religions are equal. Some doctrines are worse than others.

Rightly? I assume the kid's remaining family were asked before his picture was plastered all over websites and magazines to get traffic? It's moral porn, people just sharing it to show how caring they are. The fact that it kills any sensible debate about immigration comes second in tragedy only to fact that it shows what a bunch of self-indulgent voyeurs the west has become.
Images are very powerful and for all of us who sit in our cosy homes with all our luxury add ons, we all need reminding on what a horrible world it can be. We all get to comfortable in our surroundings and reminders are needed in how lucky we are. In the main none of us do anything but public feelings on crisis like this can make Leaders take actions
The poor kid in Vietnam running from a American bombing, the student standing in front of the tank, all very powerful and all last the test of time as both sending powerful messages out.
remember the mother was also killed but showing this image sadly would not create the attention the poor 3yr old has, so to get the message out to the people who can change this ongoing crisis shock tactics are needed.
I firmly believe if decisions are made from across the world to assist with this crisis, the child's death maybe act as a turning point. I know this won't be of any real consolation for the family, but hopefully it will put an end to these deaths and images we are seeing.
I take no pleasure in seeing images like this, it breaks my heart to see it.
You mention sensible debate on immigration, stick debate for me, let's help these people first and look at immigration later.
I am a little lost on you uncaring approach to human life

Exactly mate.

It's very surprising to me to see the others on here (of a left-leaning persuasion) saying we should take them in regardless. No thought of the consequences for those already here who are suffering the worst from this government's idealogies.

Are these sick & disabled refugees gonna be forced to take work capability assessments?

It's just hippyism of the worst order imo.

It is a terrible thing when any child dies needlessly but the manner in which the media (especially the BBC) has grasped the death by drowning of the 3 y/o Turkish boy raises doubt and questions in my mind re: the media's motives and 'quality' of what we are told.

According to the media the Med must be awash with bodies, including children, why is this not being reported.

If the same cameras were to roam the streets of most towns & cities of sub-saharan Africa they would find dead corpses, including children, cast besides the road, often beheaded, possibly ravaged by animals .. it's horrific. Yet the same media elects to ignore this.

Yesterday's footage at Budapest Railway Station, there were as many photographers as (what we were informed are) migrants.

The BBC's German Correspondent (the fit one) tells us that most German's support Merkel's ambition to offer asylum / support to the migrants, really ? I lived in Dortmund at the in the early noughties, my gym buddy was a 1st generation Turkish migrant. I saw lots of open hatred towards him, he was regularly attacked / involved in racially motivated fights.

I simply don't believe a lot of what I'm 'hearing' through the media .. and having spent the last year working in Basrah I feel that I am informed.
