He sits next to pep on a match day, says absolutely nothing, when pep talks to him he looks totally confused and never says anything.

no thanks.
As opposed to Koeman who came off the golf course two hours before the game started, Silva who sits and sulks once the opposing team scores the first goal in the game or Allardyce who tells you we are playing a 10-1 formation and then substitutes the striker at half time.

Has anyone come up with someone who matches the "isn't a risk" and "would realistically come" descriptions that are clearly a requirement for so many on here?

I believe he would jump at the chance of becoming manager of the blues, he's been looking for a premiere job for a while now, he knows the club very well and was on the short list for the Arsenal job.

Didn't realise he said that he'd been looking for a Premier League manager position, however I still don't think he would jump at the Everton job. I guess time will tell. So long as Everton end up with the right man for the job and start to progress, I'll be happy enough.

Hopefully Brands. Whether any of us think it's a good idea or not is fine for a discussion, but we don't really need to be able to put forward alternative candidates do we? I mean we haven't even suggested we're going to sack Silva yet.

Everyone is a risk but to use that in some sort of defense of Arteta is bizarre its clear and obvious why Arteta holds greater risk than some random foreign manager.
Is it?

Surely it's just one source of risk replaced with another? Arteta knows and understands the club and the league but doesn't have experience... "random" foreign manager might have managerial experience but no knowledge of the PL or familiarity with the league...

well... yeah... sort of

It's very easy to throw rocks at a concrete idea when you don't have to at least suggest a viable alternative.

cf. Brexit.

I don't really see why in this instance. My knowledge of up and coming managers across the world is limited, but that doesn't preclude me from having reservations about somebody with no experience being given the job does it?
