It's an outrageous suggestion, You're telling me you think Silva with actual experience isn't good enough to take us forward (which is true) but want someone with ZERO managerial experience is the person to take Everton to the next step? I don't care that he left we're such a nothing club that it's not surprising he wants to go to a bigger team.
If Arteta had no connections with us at all and someone in the media said Everton are considering him for the job the suggestion would be laughed at by everyone but because it's ol Mikel who was one of our best recent players and a good portion loved him it seems to be an okay suggestion, It's a big fat no from me. Even a decorated player like Lampard went to Derby first.

If we sack the manager then I want somebody with a track record , somebody with success at the highest level and someone that other clubs would think “he’s gone to Everton , they’ve done well there “. I appreciate that’s easier said than don’t but that’s what I’d like .

However if that doesn’t happen I’d take Arteta and the inevitable risks involved ahead of the rinse and repeat strategy of appointing the average name . I accept the vast majority will disagree but I’d certainly take a chance on him ahead of a Howe or a dyche as how that’ll end seems predetermined.

Doubt it; he will have the players pulling up trees, we'll be top of the table so no need to go anywhere else.
What evidence do you have that he is capable of such feats.?
Since he has never had any managerial experience whatsoever it is impossible to know what kind of manager he will be, it’s all just guesswork and supposition.
In football terms it would represent a ‘hit and hope shot’ and I expect a more considered and logical approach from the custodians of Everton F.C..

The only sensible option.

People keep saying it's an enormous gamble. So I dunno what they thought Martinez Allardyce Silva etc were. PL experience is a mythical argument and history and logic shows we succeed only when managed by former players.

We won't get him though because too many would scream from the rooftops of a lack of ambition because we didn't get Simeone. And we will regret it.
Obv Tim i agree with most things that you say but i'm not sure about that last sentence. "and we will regret it".

I just don't see how you can be so sure. I mean, he's never actually been a head coach.

For every Lampard, Gerrard there's a Neville, a Shearer.

I think at best it's a punt isn't it?

He'll probably be arsenal manager by then winning the quadruple, and we'd all still be here on the internet saying we could of had him 3 years ago but decided to wait and see.
And I’ll probably be a billionaire having won the lottery.
Sadly we have no evidence that either claim will become fact, just blind faith, and blind faith is a poor way to run any business including a football club,
