minor things that make you fume

Did I hear correctly this morning?
On radio an article on today's theme on childcare costs. A mother who has opted to stay at home to look after her offspring and not send them to nursery.
She wants the money that is spent on provision of the 30 hrs free nursery costs, paid to those who opt to look after their children in the pre - school years.
Claims that she and people like her, are being disadvantaged.

what about those of us that choose not to have children at all being disadvantaged, she already gets child benefit from taxpayers for a choice that's she's made to have kids, why stop there, we should pay her an extra £300 per week to look after them!

Quite!
Naturally, I look back to when we brought our two up. Missus gave up work until they started school. Then she was able to go part time working in a care home for a few bob. We got weekly child benefit, at least I think that is what its called.
I'm not sitting in judgement on the pros and cons of how mums look after their children in pre school years, other than to say consider these matters before you have the bairns.

Rip off savings rates.

Just checked the " high interest " savings account I took out just over a year ago.

The so called industry leading " high interest " I was earning has now dropped to 0.85% with no notification whatsoever.

Needless to say I've cancelled it.
