minor things that make you fume

Do all go surgeries have similar practices for getting an appointment? I have to call mine in the morning to get a call back off a gp at some unknown point during the day to assess whether I need to come in. Obviously not easy to take a call when working 9-5. It’s unreal

We have to phone at 8 am and take our chance on getting through to a receptionist. Most times it's engaged so you usually have to keep ringing the number for up to 15 minutes. Then if you do get through it's often too late. All but urgent slots are taken. You can usually book a telephone appointment for the next day. It's no surprise that folk go on Google and self-diagnose.

The NHS really needs to get it's act together,Spain Europe's favourite banana republic has a system that has a medical card that you register online or use an app and you book your appointment that way if you prefer, never had to have an appointment longer than 48 hours.

All these Game of Thrones fan theories and articles showing up on my feed with guesses about what's going to happen, spoilers people have read, etc.

I don't care. I just want to watch the show free from all of that stuff

I booked an appointment with an NHS dentist due to a broken tooth and had to wait seven weeks to see her. After looking in my mouth for less than 30 seconds, she told me that the tooth couldn't be saved and that the only alternative was a denture. This was without the benefit of taking any X-Ray's.
I decided to get a second opinion from a private dentist, who said that the tooth could be saved by having a crown or I could have a bridge if I chose. This was after a thorough check up and six X-rays being taken.
I've always thought that the NHS was brilliant, but, totally gutted by this experience.

Another downside of the contemporary NHS is that you have to just see whatever doctor is available. Any attempt to nominate an individual doc results in the reply "next week or the week after". When I were't nipper your family had the one doctor. I realise it's not possible now - certainly in the big city surgeries - but it all contributes to the feeling that no one really cares about you much.

I can remember as a kid that doctors would visit you when you were ill.

I need to go to my workmates doctor.

He's been signed off for a week already, his note expires on the 13th and his booked holiday starts on the 14th.

He owns a property in Turkey.. although it would be ultra cynical of me to assume he's already over there and isn't ill at all.

Next week or the week after? You don't do too bad. Down here in Berkshire it is minimum 3 weeks to see a nominated doctor.
