minor things that make you fume

Treatment from about 2am until we had to pick her up and take her to our normal vet when it opened at 8am cost us £1200.
Treatment from 8am until we had to have her put to sleep at 2pm was another £1100.
When I looked at the medication given, it was just routine gear.
Absolute bloody racket it is.
And when your upset, feeling totally mugged off isn’t nice at all.

Obscene that. I don't mind paying for expertise, running costs and even a profit (the whole point of a business) but the massive mark-ups on generic widely available drugs, bandages and other stuff shows they have no morals.

I remember looking at an itemised receipt about a year back and we even were billed for the needle they used for her IV after a £2200 operation where she was under the knife for 1 hour and in their care for less than a day. Not an opportunity missed.

I swear it the prevalence of insurance that allows vets fees to be so high. Which of course makes insurance almost compulsory.

We went with a company recommended by a vet who promised the same fee for life £20 a month. Of course that was just the life of the promise, not the dog's life. He had a skin condition that required regular medication. Of course there was a yearly excess imposed which just about covered the cost of the yearly medication.

The fee for life had just about doubled by the time the dog fell off his perch and we were paying 3 x £180 yearly excesses fir his three separate but related conditions. Only in the uk where people go doolally for pets could this protection racket exist. Of course if you don't haemmorage money the national mindset is you must be an uncaring monster. Utter scam.

For this reason we're never having pets in the UK again.

Absolutely spot on Chris. The net result being that only people who don't care enough to consider the costs will have pets....and if they're suffering they'll just have to suffer.

It was our Meg's last day on Earth today and I won't be having another pet. Can't afford to care for them in the way I'd want to care for them.

This seems like an ideal thread to start my GOT career on:

1. People who use the word yous. Like what yous doing here.
2. As I worked in a shop people who tried to return stuff by saying "no one told me it did not come with that" or "no one told me it cant do that". We cant tell you everything things cant do or don't come with.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers.

I ordered facemasks from Everton on August 18th and I'm still waiting. Ok, I live in Melbourne and it's almost certainly the postal people at fault and it's not urgent, but I like wearing the colours and they'll probably stop making masks compulsory by the time I get them. Well, no, they won't, but even so.

You could have simplified all that above by saying ‘the majority of the general public’. Welcome to the wonderful madness that is GOT, by the way.

I’ve just been swimming with my son and the showering facilities are plastered with signs And pictures saying “No shower gels etc.” Obvious as anything

What did the person next to me do? Whipped out a full set of shampoos, conditioners and gels for their family I don’t think they liked my comments.

Was considering going the pub for a few but given that Big Stand FC are on soon there'll inevitably be some of the hardcore RS who've never been to the pit but still sing at the TV, have top bantz and act like they're at a game instead of in a boozer so I'll be giving it a miss.

Might go later on as they inevitably swarm out at FT having nursed a pint of orange for 2 hours.

Granddaughter 4 today, party cancelled for obvious reasons, so just popped round to drop off cards and presents. Fuming now because woman over the road has her birthday party with at least 10 people present. Won’t snitch, not in my nature, but why are these people so much more important than everyone else?
Grass em up mate.
NEA.

Doesn't start until tomorrow, not that I would imagine it would make any difference.
