I'm more concerned what speed it has changed to than what is in front of me. It should be scrapped.

They're gone in one go, why not just give out normal size glasses?!

I wonder though do variable speed limits make things less safe.

It requires 100% compliance to work, and will you event get 100% compliance from humans?

And then everyone is staring at their speedo when they should be concentrating on the road, trying not to go over, because the cameras are 'average' ones.

Then some idiots don't know the concept of 'average speed' and speed past.

I'm very guilty of watching the speedo.
Even if I put cruise control on, someone gets up your back..

And as you say bmw drivers still bomb past regardless, like they are in the Stonecutters and know which ones are live cameras and which ones are blag.
