minor things that make you fume

I did try to shop there once, i don't know if its the same in England but it was a nerve racking experience trying to get everything into the trolley and keep up to speed with the cashier since they don't put it into bags.
Oh yeah they fire your shopping at you at light speed. It's taken a lot of practice to keep up with them. The key is to get your bags ready in your trolley before they start scanning stuff through.

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

You're also fearful of a lynching from the crowd behind you too.

You've definitely got to have a plan of action to shop at Aldi.

I always use cash too, as you can almost hear people tutting behind you if you try and pay by card.

I don't do enough shopping in one go to need a trolley, just a basket so I can usually keep up with them.
And I've found you can use your offhand to catch up and pack the last few items while you enter your pin with the other.

A couple of years ago the pace was even more frantic; when the cashiers still had to learn all the product codes by heart (like 600). Now they use scanners.

If used to play footy with a lad years ago, who worked as a manager for Aldi.

He lasted about six months before having a near nervous breakdown.

You don't work for them, they own you !
