Mirallas at the final whistle.

Pelligrini looks a perfect fit for us at the moment. He has won trophies in this league, he can manage top class players. We could go for an up and coming manager but what happened with Martinez may have put the board off going down that road. Pelligrini for 2/3 years to lift the club and then hand on to a younger man with potential. The fact that he has bought a couple of poor buys is a worry but can you name a top class manager who hasn't done that. Hopefully, if he comes to Everton, he will have learned from those buys.

Don't know how much impact pelligrini has on transfers. Strange set up at City. A better guide would be his work at Villarreal and Malaga were he took clubs that were going nowhere and turned them both into successful teams.

Yeah, Miralles was great against Southampton.

Do you remember when he was giving big about playing in the Champions League or he was off?

Another over-paid player who needs to drink from the cup of humility. Nobody wanted him then and we will do
to unload him this summer. Cleverley does not have his skill or his goal scoring ability but he has does not have his head up his arse.
He's the best finisher at the club. Imagine Mirallas on the end of either of the chances Cleverley failed to convert. Or some of the ones Rom fluffed (not all, because Mirallas isn't strong enough to have create the first chance for instance, outmuscling the defenders on that long hoof forward)...

Mirallas should have been on the left, with Cleverley using his pace to make a decent go of playing RB while Besic played CM alongside McCarthy. Could have seen a very different game.

Besic got the run around from Martial but we had the likes of Hibbert and Osman on the bench, I can't imagine what sort of situation we would have had to be in for Hibbert to have been the answer. Same goes for Osman.

I was talking to someone at Wembley yesterday who knows Hibbo and he told me that Hibbo has been training at 100% intensity for weeks and was fully ready to do a man-to-man marking job on Martial yesterday. He suggested that Hibbo has known that he might only have one more appearance in a blue shirt and he was ready.

And to be fair, watching him warm up for long periods yesterday right in front of us, I have to say that Hibbo looked lean and in very good shape for someone who has been out for such a long time.

I'm not suggesting it would have worked, but to be fair to Mo Besic he looked lost in the first half and Hibbo might just have used his experience to better effect.

The question for the manager then has to be "If Hibbert was on the bench why was a midfielder, who was being roasted, preferred to him". The only reason for putting Hibbert on the bench was to cover his full backs if any of them didn't do well, Besic didn't do we but Hibbert wasn't used".
Sounds like he was on the bench out of sentiment or Martinez made a mistake in putting him there.
