So I've been messing around learning bits and pieces of the two at/for work, and I seem to have got a bit stuck. I've watched a fair selection of youtube vids and read various articles (w3schools etc), and what I want to do is probably really easy, but I've been stumped for the last 2 days...

Ok so I have a database/table with these columns: ID, 1st name, 2nd, state, sex. I want to create a filter and display the filtered results, so atm I have 1 drop down menu which you can select whether to filter by state/sex. I then want to use the result of this to fill a second dropdown with the relevant states etc to filter by.
I am sure I've watched a tutorial on this a while ago, but I've watched so many since I can't find it, and the ones I can't find aren't directly relevant, and I can make what they show fit my need.
