MLB 2018

The Mets have gone about their business quietly this year.

They may just sneak under the radar this year.

The pitching acquisitions have been shrewd, Syndergaard, deGrom staying healthy would be huge and early days but Harvey has shown some promising stuff in ST. Vargas was a big signing, which could be a huge piece in the jigsaw, even if his first stint here was unmemorable.

Swarzak and Blevins in the bullpen will be excellent, but the insistence on using Familia will kill us.

As for the batting side, comforto returning for May will be huge, Frazier, Bruce returning and Cespedes gives us some huge power.

NL wildcard?

I’d say we have every chance.

You'll be happier when I'm back to hating your guys. Meanwhile, some in-season form from the beer guy last night.

I've had a sneaky feeling about the A's the longer Spring Training has gone on.

I'm excited. Until ultimately they regress to the mean and a lack of quality starting pitching hurts them.

Hope they do well. Been a fan of theirs since reading Moneyball. Caught a game at the O a couple years ago, it has that 60s stadium "charm" that doesn't exist anymore, and the A's fans we met there were absolutely awesome. Hopefully you get your new stadium sorted.

Looks like they’ll probably stay at the Coliseum site and rebuild on there - having it all to themselves once the Warriors leave for San Francisco.

I do like their ‘openess’ on News now they have a new owner - makes it much easier to follow them from across the Atlantic.

A world away from the day to day goings on that is being local to Everton.

Looks like we'll be battling for the basement in the NL mate. Well, at least after the Marlins

Yep more than likely haha!!

Their is some potential in the Padres roster and their spring training they have been hitting the ball well. But yeah how we will be fighting for last place haha!!

Opening Day, and we're all even at the start.

God bless baseball - a classic pastime played in friendly confines. Something the world needs, and something we can all share, young and old, rich and poor, wherever your hometown may be.

Eamus catuli! Play ball!

Almost worth getting back on Twitter to follow baseball.....

I'm thinking that many teams Twitter accounts will be much more engaging this year, following the recent social media attention of teams like the Rockies, UMBC Basketball, etc.....
