MLB 2023

The five best teams by record in the regular season (Braves, Orioles, Dodgers, Rays, Brewers) won a combined one playoff game and even that win required a pretty unlikely comeback. Why did we bother with the whole season. Gotta love baseball making itself a competitive joke just for a little extra television money.
Had a feeling the Orioles would struggle but I think the first round byes cause major issues. Those teams seemed very rusty this year.

There was already a lot of variance because the series aren't long enough for the best teams to prove their worth, and now there are too many teams involved. You might as well pick the winner out of a hat or flip a coin.

Really enjoyed that first game in the Houston/Texas series. Has the potential to be an excellent series.

That was a wild play in the 8th inning with Altuve getting called out for not touching second base on his way back to first. Can’t remember seeing a play like that before

Topped by Semien getting tagged out on his batting glove? What a wild series. Go Rangers!

Congrats on making it to the WS! That Friday night game was incredible. Some batting performance last night

I have not watched enough of this team so I really don't know them, but they are fun and can hit the ball. Unfortunately, they only seem to have 2 starters that can give a quality start. Maybe Scherzer will throw a good game in the WS.

Also, apparently Bumgarner sent Bochy a text to tell him was available for Game 7 if needed.

I watched them a couple times when they played the Mets. It’s a really scary lineup with a lot of depth. Seager and Garcia are are both in real hot streaks right now. I’m getting a 2002 Angels vibe from them tbh.

Before the playoffs started, I thought their bullpen would hold them back but they’ve been able to advance even with issues with the relievers.

Sborz has been huge and Chapman hasn't blown up yet so that's been great. I've really enjoyed watching Evan Carter, a huge steal in the covid draft. They appeared to miss with Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker was always a gamble, but Evan Carter looks every part of an every day MLB outfielder and #3 hitter (although they can move people around in that lineup) after just turning 21 only 2 months ago.

What a career! Dusty and Bregman going out on the field to greet Brooks Robinson last year is one of the classiest things I’ve seen in 40 years of watching baseball. I’d imagine the Hall will be calling in three years time.
