The odds say they finally have to win it...it will end in tears for the Cubs.

What was the water cooler event? I wasn't watching, but Twitter blew up over this. Also, well in young Pittsburgh lad behind home plate.

Sean Rodriguez punched out a water cooler in the dugout after the benches cleared in the seventh (I think it was the seventh...) He threw a punch at what looked like Kyle Schwarber (not the guy I would duke it out with in the Cubs lineup, btw) in the sideline dance that accompanied the classic baseball "fight" after Arrieta got plunked. Rodriguez got tossed and took it out on the big thermos on his way to the showers. He spent time on the DL a few years ago after punching a locker, I understand. Really tough night for the Bucs.

Arrieta was magisterial... (Ray?? Is that you??) The kid behind the plate was awesome. Good thing he wasn't on the field, or we could have been in trouble.

Feeling very bleary eyed at work today having stayed up to watch all of our game. It was over before midnight, but that's a late night for me!!

Gutted to drop game 1 but it's not over yet. David Price was just a little bit off with his location last night. Strange how he's struggled against the Rangers this year and he's still waiting for his first postseason win... I've high hopes for Stroman tonight though. Long way to go in this series yet I reckon.

Huge game in Toronto with the Jays facing Hamels...could very well soon be down 0-2 heading to Texas
Great work by Gallardo in game 1. Never would have imagined I'd be optimistic about a playoff series after Darvish went down, but these will be fun to watch.

All the winning teams seem to be 'looser' than the home teams so far. Excepting the Astros, they're all on hot streaks and confidence is so important in a short series. I felt like the Pirates were wound up tighter than an eight-day clock. Don't let the pressure exceed the pleasure.

I'm really excited about this Cubs-Cards series. Not for all the players involved (who are great), but for the managers--Maddon and Matheny--who might be the two best in the game today.
