Hmmm...thinking McRae, Griffey, Boone, Alou and running out of steam

Bonds is the only one mentioned, but I think those are all good guesses... using my Google machine:

http://www.smackbomb.com/nolanryan/strikeouts.html

Father & Son Strikeout Victims
  • Sandy Sr & Roberto/Sandy Jr Alomar
  • Bobby & Barry Bonds
  • Tito & Terry Francona
  • Ken Sr & Ken Jr Griffey
  • Hal & Brian McRae
  • Dick Sr & Dick Jr Schofield
  • Maury & Bump Wills

Supposedly, it was blisters that caused the Mets to trade Nolan Ryan. I know my father mentioning that he didn't mind losing Ryan but was absolutely gutted when Seaver was traded. One of the worst all-time trades

Right up there with Lou Brock for Ernie Broglio. What were they thinking?

Ryan really didn't develop true major league command of his pitches until he went to the Angels.

Wasn't meant to be for the Jays :(

This season has been a fun ride though. Has made a nice change from the grinding, relentless disappointment of recent years! Hopefully we can keep the majority of the team together to have another crack at it next year...

If someone had told me a few years ago that the Royals and Mets were going to play in the World Series in 2015, I would have laughed in their face. But here we are. I'll take the Mets in this one.

14 innings...has to feel awful being on the losing end of that marathon. crazy how well colon did for a while at 42

Not into baseball much. but the royals being in a 2nd consecutive World Series is further proof that American sports are better than ours . The royals with one of the lowest budgets in baseball doing what there doing is something that will never happen again in English football . The only thing we do better is promotion and relegation .

Gutted. Absolutely gutted (and knackered).

All good runs must come to an end, and sadly for Jeurys last night, his amazing run came to an end. As soon as they tied it, and took it to extras it was game over....

Should we lose this series 4-3, I definitely think that Collins will have to have a VERY good explanation as to why Lagaras didn't start CF last night instead of Cespedes.
